Thread: Recycling idea to prevent people from selling items for less than resource cost.
I'm sure it's been hased many times, but...
Allow us to break items back into it's component pieces and reuse the resources.
(or make some class capable of doing it)
Say if we were able to recycle 75% of the resources, we would be able to buy a 7k small house and break it back into 2250 of the original 3000 resources. We'd effectively be buying the resources for 3cr / ru.
If we could recycle 100% that'd be about 2cr/ru.
If people want to sell for that cheap they are free to, however we should be able to take those resources and recycle them.
Make the quality of the recycled resource a fixed low number, like 100 or 200, so that if anyone just needs material, they can use it, but if they want to make a ultra hi quality item, they can't make it out of recycled parts. (It'd be more realistic to base it on the resources it's made form, which is too data intensive, or some kind of overall quality, but I'm sure people could take advantage of this somehow, by increasing the quality of a bad resource to a really high level.
Various objects can be marked with a recyclability stat based on how realistic it is to reclaim the resources. (and influenced by the recyclability of it's components) Chemically combined items are hard to recycling, physcially combined items are easier.
All-Steel bookshelf = 100%
Steel & Aluminium bookshelf = 90%
House = 90%
Sofa = 80%
Rifle = 70%
Stimpak = 30% (the container, basically)
Jawa beer = 20% (the container basically)
