Thread: Questions on indentical mfg mechanisms and identical generator turbines

First off in general if you make a schematic that requires a sub component, do all the sub components have to be identical for the schematic to work?


Example, I hand made 3 generator turbines to make 2 identical mfg mechanisms (1 for schematic 2 for actual production). I go to the factory and try and use the schematic and I keep getting factory shutting off zero made. When I look it says the factory is looking for a specific serial number generator turbine. I assume the answer to my own question is that yes, you do have to have identical sub components. This is a royal pain.


Next, what is with the random limits of things it will put in a crate? For mfg mechanisms I had enough to build 4 identical, and it shut off at 3. For Generator turbines it shuts off at 5. Is there some formula as to volume of an item or complexity and how many it will put in a crate?


I don't mind the identical components required, but it is a royal pain doing them 3 at a time or 5 at a time. Please let me know if I am missing something.

Yes the components need to be identical..If you look on the schematic for the part you want to make it lists the serial # of the sub parts you need...I only make these parts in large runs so that way i dont have to make a schematic for the parts everytime i run them...

Definitions



Similar = The end product looks the same. You can build walls with ore and metal that is very different for each unit. and it will still combine to make a proper wall.



Identical = The items can only be made in a factory, they have to actually have the same serial number.


Knowinig the difference can save you time and materials.
