What is the efficiantcy of a large harvester as compared to a personal harvester like?

I'm talking power, maintainance, and re-deeding costs.

Large harvesters take 3x the upkeep in credits and power and make 3.5x the resources..

In the end whatever concentration you harvest and whatever time you spent doing it before the resource shifts the heavy harvester will always cheaper resources in the same duration.

The higher the concentration of the resources, the smaller the difference btw the personal and the heavy will be, this takes into account redeeding costs or costs of personal harvester (cheaper to buy a new personal than to redeed it)..

I don't have my excel spreadsheet here but typically you will get the following :

On a 46% resource patch that you are mining for more than a couple of days the heavy will incur costs of about 0.13cr/unit less than the personal.

If you were mining a 80% resource patch the cost difference would only be of about 0.08cr/unit...

However that difference in itself can not fund the cost of a heavy harvester (or you would have to harvest over 1M units ...). What funds the heavy harvester is the extra quantity of resources you can mine with the heavy ( only due to the fact that we have limited lots....)

If the number of lots was infinite you would be looking at something like harvesting over 1.3M resources with a given heavy harvester before making back the cost of that harvester....

Actually both were very helpfull.

See I have a loan on my heavy harvesters which I pay back as resourses mined, while I get to keep 10% for my own needs untill they are paid off.

That would mean that my harvesters on heavy harvester can pull 1.5 times as much as my 2 personal ones did, and I can stick two heavy ones there if I need to.

so at 7000 units a day on a 80% yeild, it will take me a week to pay off the harvester at 3c per unit

A week to increase my net worth by 150k + is not bad...

Thanks for the info =)
