Cross post from discussion since it will most likely be burried there within seconds.
Recently in the post about the Vendor maintenance Holo admitted that a large number of items laying around houses causes excessive DB load that they are trying to avoid. It was also stated that Items on a vendor (ie. not on the floor) was much less of a load on the DB.
Here is a simple solution which should significantly decrease the DB load across the board:
Allow Arch's to make Bank Terminals which (like crafting stations) are placeable inside houses (exept make them look like furniture..chests..book shelves..ect..). All of the sudden DB load is limited to the Decorative items in the house and not junk laying around. All that would really have to be done is to take existing furniture models for chests and such then tack on the bank DEPOSIT BOX subroutine. Walla...instant functional furniture which everyone will be able to use and store their stuff in which will decrease overall server DB load.
It's a simple yet elegant solution.
Thought's? Suggestions?

Heh. Early into the launch, when I wasn't able to put items inside a chest or cabinet I submitted it as a bug, hoping that my point would come across. It was something to the effect of
"Itcan onlybe a bug. Having an item called a cabinet that doesn't actually store anything would be silly."
