Im starting a simple mining business (on intrepid) and someone has told me the Architects were constantly in the need of ore. What type of ore do they specifically need? Carbonate? Silicastic? and is their a specific type of each? Finally, what stats (OQ, Mal, ect) matter most to them? Thanks!

For 90-99% of our ore needs the quality doesnt matter. So we need any/all ore in bulk quantities with cheap prices.

For some ore that we need for harvesters, we need HR, SR and UT as high as possible preferably over 900. WE might bay a bit of a premium for this but not too high.

Carbonate ore is a bit more preferable than other ore styles since its specifically needed for one of our sub components.

Ionite intrusive ore and pholokite extrusive ore are rarer types that we specifically need for master level furniture. Don't usually need large quantities though.

I don't generally deal with the Furniture side of things and since they don't take that much ore to begin with, I would *generally* recommend carb ore if you have to pick one, otherwise it doesn't matter at all.

Carb ore is used specifically in Turbine Generators which are used in every single medium and heavy harvester so it helps to keep things simple, and Archs will always need it.

mostly its just quantity as people have said...

the problem is that we have the worst ROI in the game...4 cpu is about a break even price....i will only pay that if i am desperate for ore...2 -2.5 is a decent price that actually allows a decent profit margin....

you will also find that there are different kinds of architects....those of us who are "real" arcitects will probably want to buy a few 100K at a time..anything under 200K and i am not interested

Ditto - to do a run of a 100 walls takes 220300 ore (you lose 300 in the schematics) and believe me those walls will not last you long. Any type of ore as mentioned will do.

A run of 100 Turbines (again which won't last you long) requires 25250 Carbonate Ore.

If you are serious, grab some statics and cross your fingers, or have your 8 moving harvs always sitting on ore spots.

It's all been said already. In general any ore of any quality is what Architects buy in bulk (meaning 100k - many millions at a throw). Specific ore requirements for certain components is Carbonate, again any quality will do. Finally, for certain components and stages of crafting any type of ore with high stats in HR/SR/UT (over 900) is 'useful'.
So broken down into demand, with highest first:

1. Any ore, any quality
2. Carbonate ore, any quality
3. Any ore with 900+ HR, SR & UT.

Did I miss any ?

One other thing you might want to do:

Talk to an architect and see if they can help you with a wp to some good concentrations. 45 % is somewhat low these days for Valcyn. They will most likely offer help in return for a contracted price or supply of ore. I think youll find mostof the archs more than willing to help someone that can supply them with ore.

/agree

If you have ore with low stats sell it in blocks of 220,300 and advertise it as "Wall Ore".

If you have ore with decent HR,SR, and UT, you may be able to sell it for slightly more as "Crafting Ore"

If you can get word to M Arch's that this ore is available on your vendor, you will sell it as fast as you can stock it.

Ore that is less than 2.5 or 2 cpu, perferably carbonate, but not necessarily.
