I'd like to see a way that we could import screenshots as paintings that could be used to decorate houses. Any thoughts?

I don't think it would ever happen. People would have pornographic images in their houses in a second and SOE wouldn't want that and wouldn't be able to police it.

To true. It was a good thought but poorly thought through. however, artisans should have the ability to paint. put it in one of the trees and introduce new resources, that would be the hardest part, then an artisan could make all sorts of painting off a list (it would have to be a list that would be the only way to control it) and they could give bonuses to bf healing in player cantinas or somthing... ok now I'm rambling but you get the idea. don't you?

I shudder in horror at the idea of SOE as art critics as well. Look at most of the furniture.

The ammount of lag that would be caused both on the client side and server would be immense. Pictures take up space, and have to be sent to the clients... send that one image around to every client out there.. it adds up real fast. Multiply that out to the dozens of architects and artisans... Server dies of all the added traffic and work it has to do.
People love paintings and furnishings. Give players the ability for a class to create custom image paintings and look at the number of requests that someone put their image up... you start to get the idea.

why have SOE vote? Let them post 10-20 submissions and let the community vote for their favorite ones!

Ya thats the best way.. let the public vote on the favorite.
That way we'd end up with the half naked Twi'lek woman for sure!

THey could do it on the client side so that only you see your own BMPs in the paintings in your house and everyone else sees a generic image.
Or on a similar subject, SOE could hold a competition where players could submit their drawings and the winners would be used as paintings in the game.

Here's an idea. Have a craftable item called a camera. And if you use it, it takes a screenshot of the area your in, then you can get that picture framed. That way you havesomething from ingame to put on the frame.
Only problem with this is that it would cause a lot of lag if someone had an art gallery of nothing but custom pics.

Dunno about that, I reckon that given todays house storage they probably only get 5 in before the place is full anyway
