I've been around for a couple of years now (since day one) I've seen hundreds of questions about Schematics for 1000 items and low quantity crates and never have I seen an acceptible answer.
Why can't I create crates of 1000 when I can create schematics for 1000 times in a single batch run?
As an Architect I must keep tons of supplies and my toons inventory and several houses are always full of crates of supplies. Seems only like common since to me that since the system is capable of generating a run of 1000 items at a time why can the finished run be in a single create... It would be a immence help with storage and space not to mention make it a little easier to keep track of stock.

IMO it's an attempt by the devs to reduce the chance of a single player flooding the game market with products.

It also slows down the rate of production for complex items, since you don't have access to the input hopper while the factory is active. The factory's automation benefit is offset somewhat by the slowness of production. It's part of the game balance.

It just seems like they justdon't really want people to be crafters at all. (when you consider the limitations placed on inventory, droidstorageand structure storage.) Doesn't really make sense. Me, I like crafting it's why I play at all. I have no combat ability at all (combat level 1) (and yes If I stay to long at a spaceport I will get a 60+ dragging an aggressive creature in just to wipe me out, ha ha - really funny) But that is just someone's idea a fun.
I've been wondering if there are any other games out there that actually consider crafter verses combat?

That part doesn't really effect me since I allow all runs to complete before emptying a factory. Well, in most cases, I have waited for a few items to complete then take them out and continue... Rush orders generally.

If anyone has a problem with the crate size it would be me (or others like me), doubling as a Tailor and Architect. I have 2 sets of seperate crafting resources 1 for architect and 1 for tailorand stock about 200 crates of various tailor components along with all the components needed for houses and civic structures. The only way that i have figured out to get around this problem is to have a storage vendor. I fill backpacks with components, name them, and put them for sale for 9999999999 credits. it only becomes cumbersome when im switching back and forth betw tailor and architect. Even then, I sell the backpacks that i am carrying back to the vendor, and retrieve the ones i need. I am definately an advocate to have crates all set to 100 at least. there is no reason some crates hold 5 and others hold 100. I would imagine the armorsmiths and weaponsmiths would encounter this problem as well. Hope this helps.
