The way I've done the math I am breaking even if I sell a house at 5k, and thats if I dont fail on one.

I guess the answer is to make something else.. but is this working as intended?

Blame the players not the devs.

Maybe your not intended to pull a profit until later levels..

A small house takes exactly 3388 resources to assemble. If we charge 3 creds per resource (Assume you bought all resources from the bazaar/players, going best rate is 3 creds) you would have to charge AT LEAST 10,164 credits to just BREAK EVEN, and that's not figuring a critical failure on ANY PART OF THE PROCESS, including the darn house itself!

Players selling for less than 10k are ruining the market, they are ruining our ability as a "class", simply because they don't care about costs and want the "mad XP" to be a 1337 Master.

I'll continue to ask 15k for my houses, and offer to accept Low Grade Ore at 3 creds a piece as payment. If I never sell a house, then I guess i'm role playing a broke old architect.

Well the players are setting the house prices. The only guidelines are how many resources the items take. I think because houses are not needed and that a lot of people choose architecture the market is seriously flooded. That's why home rates are so low. The only thing we can hope is that people leave the profession when they can't make any money or get bored and do something else.

I think the problem you're running into is that the game's economy really hasn't matured to the point that housing is going to sell very well. Look at it this way. The game has been in existence for about, oh, two weeks. In that time, the "society" has been flooded with an endless number of financially destitute refugees with little in the way of marketable skills (newbies). The bright side is that:

A. There is a form of welfare through the delivery missions (which require literally no skill and little risk (if any) to accomplish.

B. The refugees can use this "free money" to acquire job skills, or simply apprentice themselves to others.

So we've got this land of opportunity, and in theory things should stabilize eventually, but this isn't likely to happen until the tide of newbies subsides, and there are more experts in each field. Also, like so many countries in the midst of war, the economy of the game is reliant upon war. Even the support classes (entertainers, builders, etc.) who stay away from the field of war will ultimately be gaining the majority of their funds from war. For example, I'm an entertainer. Let's say a bunch of my friends and I want to open a private cantina so we can have a cover charge. I'd want a big building, so I can make a real casino atmosphere, with prizefights, gambling, and the like. So I'd pay someone like you to build it. But where do I get the money? From people in need of mental and battle fatigue healing. The people who are most likely to have enough of that damage to be willing to pay for my little venture (assuming that myself and my comrades are high-level entertainers, and thus able to provide superior service to the cheaper ones in the regular town) are probably soldiers in the galactic war, or perhaps the occasional hunter. Maybe they work for Jabba. In any case, they all liver by the sword/blaster/fist. Until those people, the combat monkeys, are financially secure, none of us will be.

At least, that's my opinion.

The market is definately flooded with small houses being offered for little to next to nothing. I am not sure if people are using them to skill up or why they are choosing to make so many small houses, as they are not the greatest experience/resource. It seems the best way to deal with this is simply to choose not to make them. There are plenty of other items that can be made and marketed if your own needs have already been filled.

The going rate on most servers is 15k, some are a bit higher at 18k... I even have a friend who cannot find one on his server for under 20k.... So if you build one deed and ask 15k for it and nobody buys, build factories instead... Factories are selling for 45k minimum on my server and most are 55k... Save your resources for the higher priced items and later house prices will go back up when the resources deplete and new resources come in... People will have to start collecting resources all over again or buy the old resources at high price per resource...

Unfortunately I've already seen a small house being sold on the Bazaar for 3K. I'm not sure how or why Artisians/Architects are choosing to do this - but this is definatly making an impact on the economy.

That guy made a good point about war which brings up this. Will imps be able to destroy rebel buildings or vice versa? If they will be able to, then the need for archtect will always be there.

Don't go near anything resembling a house listed in the bazaar for 3k. Chances are its a renamed harvestor or something else, not a house. I've heard of some unscrupulous people out there. Caveat Emptor...

Haha - thanks Gryhm. Wow - didnt think people would do that. I guess someone has to take advantage of the people who won't spend 3x cost for a house; however, will spend 10x cost for a uber leet weapon cuz it shoots a neato lightning bolt.

I think I'll take previous advice and stick to larger buildings.

I'd love to see the ability to destroy equipment or buildings or oppposing factions... That would give crafters longevity...
