I heard a rumor that housing types were dependant on planets....

So if you got a Naboo style house you couldn't place it on Naboo or something.

Is there any truth to this, or can you place any style of house, on any planet?

there are specific plans for specific planets, I live on tat and I have a basic tat house. On moons, Rori is one i think, you can not build a house for the planet it is you need a generic house which comes at the first step up from novice artchitect.

There are different types of houses yes. The main planets have specific deeds designed to only be deployable on that planet.

There are also generic houses that are planet independant. You can use those on any planet in a buildable area.
