When I create a structure that requires identical components, can i put the factory crate with the identical components into the factory, or do i need to remove each item and put it in my factory hoper? thanks!

they have to be removed from the crate...

Well supposedly you can use the crate, but it is buggy so you really do want to take the items out of the crate.

If you don't you will likely lose materials andthe factory won't take the last items from the crate. Sometimes it does work, but I wouldn't risk it.
