Thread: Question about quality
How important is the quality of a personal crafting terminal and/or factory?
In other words, if I create a personal crafting terminal with my novice architect, and it's a good success with a good experimentation, will it be better or worse than a public crafting station? Same with a factory? Is it worth producing when I'm at such a low level, or should I wait until I'm a few boxes up the architect skill tree before I start making such items?
Thanks in advance.
we need a Dev post to be sure
I've noticed (just observations, not factual statistics):
Personal crafting stations with the Experimental Effectiveness up in the +80% range give far better successes with fewer failures. Experimenting seems to go better also (a LOT more "great" and "amazing" successes with experimental points). It seems that you need it high for a noticable change.
A heavily expreimented (Effectiveness) crafting tool seems tohelp alotas well.
Resource quality has an effect on the success, but not necessarily the final product.
The "optional" parts for the personal crafting stations have no effect on your combines. (I think it only adds an input hopper, which I've only seen on the first use of a new station, then it disappears. I'm thinking its a bug.)
Experimental points have no noticable effect on the final product (unlike meds, weapons and armor) so they're basically a waste of time, only increasing the time to produce the finished product. Experimented harvesters don't harvest more, hold more, last longer, use less power ordecay slower. Experimented houses have the same maintenance rate as non-experimented ones andthey decay at the same rate when the maint. pool runs out. Experimented furniture is, well, a joke.

i agree
for architects, experimentation is a BIG joke. You can make it so get more 'exceptinal results' with a better crafting kit and crafting station. Here's the catch, better quality buildings perform the same as low quality ones. So what's the point? nothing. Just takes longer to craft the item since you are experimenting.
