We know the problems, lets talk about some ideas to improve/fix the profession.

1. Have harvesters/buildings deeds deteoriate everytime they get reclaimed or after harvesting so many resources. Otherwise there will be no need for new buildings/architects in the future.

2. Let architects be able to lessen/repair the maintenience cost... seems logical and would offset some of the problems where architectsd have too much need of resources

3. Let advancement in the construction tree add to the architects lots total. - again resource related.

4. Make PA halls cost 0 lots and up the maintiance higher so everyone dont start having them. Punish the PA if you have to not the PA leader. - Not really a Architect issue.

5. Make experimention and materials do something - Maybe for harvesters, the durability as per item1, harvest rate and mainteinance rate. For buildings maybe the amount that can be stored in the house. Even the max. number of members for the PA hall.

Thats all I can think of now...

Hmm, nothing to add to the architect profession?

6. Release Player Cities and allow more schematics for city buildings.

allow opposing faction equipment to be destroyed, simple well within the scope of a "galactic civil war"

it gives combat classes something to do when they have finished all the "content" and killed all their favourite creatures, I made this point in a chat room and a CSR responded by saying that sounds too much like planet side, hmn does that matter ? what are all the combat classes going to do when they can no longer level, it will be "oh a rebel raid in theed" gosh havent seen one of them since ... this morning. Why bother having a turret defending anything if nothing can be destroyed.

I find nothing more absurd than imperial marked harvesters parked next to rebel ones galactic civil war hmn, I like the game but sooner or later SWG will hit the wall AO did in the galactic civil war theme most players got tired of raiding each others cities pretty quickly and nothing would breath life back into an architechts life faster than all those HUGE mining fields on Theed being chopped up

More furniture schematics.

Customization of furniture colors.

yes furniture colour customisation, patterns to represent the hide its made of ?

i notice there is a bazaar catagory labelled "turrets" yes lets have some turrets,

how about ... some works of art, sculptures etc, how about remote bazaar access terminals

someone else has suggested remote harvester access terminals, i live in 2003 in a world without hypersapce travel but i never go to a bank to pay my bills remarkable that in the futuristic galaxy that this is done with so much leg work, to collect resources sure, but to pay for them ? hmn

obviously the architecht will come into its own when player cities are included into the game until then i would expect there to be little or no "new" stuff for archs

i would expect new weapons/armour/clothing/droids before i expected new arch items

house price 5k vs weapon price 16k plus shows the devs what the majority want most of

My biggest concern is that all buildings and harvesters can be re-deed. This means eventually everyone will have the house they want and harvester they want. They will not have to buy new ones ever.

Change re-deed so that if you re-deed you get credits back. This will be huge for architect and could save the class.

They should make it so quality resources/experimenting will reducce maintanence cost.

Fix bugs

Admins should be able to drop items in houses.

If you drop items in your house you should be able to pick it back up. I know that you can use the /move back 1 command, but you shouldn't have to

  • More styles of houses

  • Defensive Structures

  • More Furniture and color customization (like tailors get)

  • Bring back the miner profession

  • Make factories cooler, like be able to go in them (just fora cool factor)

  • More Lots

  • Make experimenting on harvesters be able to bring in more resources than non experimented ones

  • And much more but dont have time to list all

"Admins should be able to drop items in houses". This would hurt the arch profession people club together and buy 1 large house to share a room each and use the lots they saved to harvest minerals

I've been looking around for a thread about the move back/forward rotate left/rigth system. Is it just me or is this sorta a pain? they use and overhead view for the placing of buildings, why can't the houses be the same way? or putting things on the walls, or maybe simply putting something on a table. fancy that.

Yes it is true that it might hurt us if all admins could drop items in the house. They could still set a limit based on the size of the house.

1. Assign a condition number (i.e. say 100000/100000) to each building. This number will be the result of 1) quality of the material used during construction, 2)experiementation used on the finished product. The max. number will deteoriate slowly in time if based on 1) how well it has been maintained (basically, if one day you forgot to maintain and let the maintaince pool drop to zero, the max. number will drop) and 2) how many times the building has been redeed.

2. More schematics that have to do with other areas of SWG (PvP especially). Allow architects to design field bases, defensive structures, fortifications. Perhaps introduce new schematics for cantina type of construction, hospital type, arena type, various "store" types.........etc.

3. Let material used in construction and the experiementation points used affect : 1) maintaince rate, 2) efficiency, 3) storage size

4. Allow architects to repair buildings in a cheaper price -Say a harvestor of 50% damage requires 5000 cr (just any random number I thought up)to repair by any regular joe. Allow architects with skill points in perhaps theconstruction tree able to fix the same damage for 1000 cr. This will open up a market for professional home repair specialists.

5. Make furnitures DO something instead of being just decorative pieces. Data terminals should be able to store data, link to other terminal such as mission terminals, banking terminals, etc. Seats, sofas, and bed should grant a regen bonus. Carbinates and Shelves should be able to act as containers. Light fixtures should be a valid light source.

How about lamps that wont just sit on the floor, more lots ( i think this is common)

or how about having a seperate pool of harvestor lots, factories lots and home lots ??

Making it possible to have rebel and imp faction mission terminals in player cities.

Player cities.

not switching ore 3 times a week woudl be good too

Hello fellow architects! Was looking for a place to post these ideas last week.. now I've found it.

Couple of ideas that I think would benefit the architect profession:

1) Lootable Schematics - Find schematics off of fallen enemies, inside locked containers, etc. These could be schematics for other types of furniture, better structural components, etc. Perhaps they have a number of uses, or have infinite uses.. it would be interesting if they had a few "uses", to make the item more rare. Problem with architects (and maybe every profession) is that we can all build the same stuff and there isn't any variation.

2) Structural Analysis - This would be a skill tree within the architect profession. The ability to analyze structures found in the world, such as the different bits and pieces found in the cities, perhaps some rare piece of furniture deep within Jabba's Palace, etc. Further up the tree you go, the better items you can "break down" and understand. Then, you can "learn" a schematic after a successful analysis (again, perhaps with a limited number of uses).

What really drives me nuts about the professions in SWG compared to UO is that once you have a skill, you ALWAYS have it. There is no degradation of skills, which made being a Grandmaster Smith, or anything in UO so rare. You HAD to keep working at it. In SWG, everyone who becomes a Master Architect will always be a Master Architect even if they aren't practicing their profession. That strikes me as a bit odd, so I'd love to see skills degrade.

Think that's about it for now,
