This worked very successfully for me to the point where I stopped crafting anything but a few advertising furniture pieces for the bazaar. I had 6 "subcontractors" that I hooked up with, by seeing them in town barking ads and asking them simply, ok your selling a small house for 7k, how many ya got, how much if I buy everything your selling all at once right now? And it never failed they were so happy to "move" all their deeds that they even went lower on their initail asking price.

One thing lead to another and for the "convience" of knowing that they could sell out right to me with out having to sit in town barking ads for their wares they would drop everything off to my vender in the mornings and I would buy it all, mark it up and sell it.

Because I was buying around 30-50 deeds every morning from several "suppliers", my vender was always stocked with over100 deeds everyday, as a result my reputation got around that if ya needed it NOW it was in stock, no waiting, so I could ask decent prices and sold about 30-50 items a day (profiting about 5k per sale after cost of running things). So I know first hand this works! 8oD

All that being said however, I did over extend myself, I hooked up a sweat sweat deal, spent all my capital and bought several medium and large houses and factories all in one major deal, then the very next day they did the "big" patch and sales dried right up, my "running the biz expences" were over 50k a day above what I was spending on my suppliers (I had the busi3 vender). So 5 days of basiclly nothing in sales and I was forced to close up shop (saving enough capital to keep harvs going for a few weeks and to set up shop again when time is right). So I learned never to empty the coffers no matter how good I think I have it.

Im not crying though, learned a good lesson and Im allready on the way back to success. I have my shop up again and am selling some of my stuff to build up the capitial need to make large purchases again and Ill be right back in the game. I just wanted again to say first hand thatJyss's idea has some real merit to it if your up to doing something like this.

After playing this game for a few weeks now, I decided to become an architect. Being able to craft houses just seemed so neat to me. I have been reading these boards for the past few days and the re-occuring theme is all about people selling for way less than what the item is worth.

The two other online games I have played are Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot. DAOC is mainly rvr, not much in it for making loads of money crafting. But in UO crafting and vendors were incredible fun, its why i like SWG so much, is because i get the neat crafting side of the game, with the DAOC graphics (instead of the crappy UO 2-D graphics). Being a crafter/merchant type player for 3 years on UO taught me many things. No matter what you think is a fair price, someone will undercut you. They just wont care what their time is worth to them in regards to monetary return on the game. I grandmastered all the crafting professions on UO so i could make everything in the game. My vendors were constantly stocked. But were they stocked mainly with stuff I made is the question. Like the problem with architecture prices, people would sell their items for less than what the materials they made their items were worth on the open market. I would find such a vendor and just buy what they had for sale, then put it up on my vendor at a proper price and make a profit. This seems that it would work extremely well with architecture. If you see some little architect in town yelling small houses for 5k, buy them! They will sell at 10-15k, and you have yourself a nice tidy profit and didnt need to do all the work of gathering all the resources yourself. Its called wholesale

Its an investment that if you are patient will pay off in the long run, and bring prices up to your level. You buy stuff, resell it for a decent price for us (I think 3cr/unit is totally unreasonable and low considering that is what resources sell for raw, no account for your time getting the skill to make structures or the crit fails and time you spend making them). You resell and still make some cash to keep your own harvesters running, and you can stockpile your own materials for large orders that smaller orders might keep you from doing since you need such a big stockpile of stuff to even attempt the large homes and PA halls.

If customers tell you that your price is too high, that someone else said they would do it cheaper, ask who this person is, find them and buy from them. This saves you the time having to make these items and again saves your resources for bigger projects.

So instead of selling a small house and feeling abit bad since u got maybe 3cr/unit off of it, sell a small house and think, wow i just made a couple of k straight profit.

True, unless you are rich, you cannot afford to buy out all the 30k factories, but if the small housing price rises, other prices will rise too (hopefully)

Anyways, just an idea, because i trully am tired of seeing that its cheaper to buy a small house in town than it is to buy some skimpy bikini thing that takes 1/10 the material.

While this a good idea if you see anyone crying "Heavy harvesters for 50k!", most people don't have dedicated architects to go to for their orders. I played UO for five years and ran a very successful business on Atlantic with armor, weapons and treasure. But UO wasn't the huge planet spanning area SWG is. Running to a vendor in this game is different, so people don't find the arch vendors to go to exclusively like you would in UO when you found a good one. Mark a rune and you're there. Definitly not as easy in SWG, which is why people use the search function for near architects.

This idea just doesn't work as well as it seems. The undercutters know alot of the time that you're coming, because you've asked the guy that told you about his price and refused yours forthe undercutter'sname. They won't sell you the items. They know you are going to make a profit off of them. But what I don't get is why they then don't see that they could have got more for their sale!
