Thread: Regarding new maintenance... sort of a gripe =/
I'm a little disappointed in the new harvester costs. Especially since every time I redeed mine they jump up or down by about 30c/h. It's weird. Anyway... I hover around 1 million credits, not because of my master architect but because of my master creature handler. Extinct pets and all that... blahblah, anyway.
I don't AFK sample overnight, though I do occasionally sample with a book and click away boxes as needed, but that isn't nearly fast enough to keep up with ore. I rely on harvesters, and I have friends who let me use their lots for harvs as well. Ore is STILL hard to come by without paying all my money for it. As an architect, a class that specializes in big items that use huge resource amounts and are as permanent as the buyer wants them to be, I don't make many sales. Maybe a heavy every few days, a couple mediums here and there, some houses on the side. I'm not stinkin rich and I cant afford to stay with architect with the new costs, even though I've dropped most of my harvs.
These new costs seem to be hurting the little guys. Someone with a huge clientelle who's been around for ages as a master and already has more millions than they bother to count will hardly feel the change. Someone just starting out, or who plays the class casually, is going to have a rough time of it. I love my architect, it's just -fun- to me, but now it appears too troubling. I don't want to lose it...
Am I overreacting, or does anyone else feel this will just hurt the blue collars?
I don't know it seems only fair...
Compare:
90 / ER 7 = 12.9 cpER
114 / ER 10 = 11.4 cpER
138 / ER 13 = 10.615 cpER
So essentially it's cheaper per unit to run an ER 13 harvester than it is to run one of the older harvesters. Don't base your information on the buggy maintenance, because of course it's a problem, but once it's resolved, things will be much better.
Yes. The smaller harvesters are much cheaper per ER, especially when looking at the new mediums, BUT, for the little guy who doesnt have 50 guild lots to use, it the new heavies really improve the amount you could mine over what you had before. The big guys can mine even more, but the big guys could already mine more than the small guys, so it doesn't change much on that level because for the little guy, what count is YOU.
BTW, I'm a little guy I have a guild, and a few guild members occasionally help me out by selling me cheap ressources, but overall I have to manage my small fleet of harvesters (4 heavies), and I'm much better off for the improvement, even if there is a bit of a maintenance increase.
I'm with you.
I bought a second toon so that we could have a crafting toon in our clan. Most of the established wish to remain neutral, or are in different clans. I've been w/ this clan for ages... so i built and arch/weapon smith. (the WS is slow going... rofl) Either way - i can't POSSIBLY keep up w/ demand... and its just irritating. I've got nine harvs down .. 2 heavies and 7 meds... and got a (wow) 29k of low grade... which will go poof in no time flat just makin bricks for walls. <sigh> I've never seen a concentration of low grade at decent numbers either... high 40's...
There prolly have been or are beter concentrations.. just i've not seen it... and my crafter is NOT good enough to NOT dodge all the bloody agro's everywhere... specially when you lag load on em.
So pretty irritating over all - specially when i just FEEL like i used to get more out of the harvs on a daily basis... i have nothing to base that on... but it sure seems like ya don't get half what i used to get out of the harvs.
oh well - i persevere. =)
