Architect Archive
Thread: I've reach novice, now what.
Finally got to Novice Architect. ![]()
Now I'm stuck. I need lots of resources to make things but i just don't have any money to buy resources with, what did all you other architects do? I'm kinda lost at the moment, i don't know where i'm heading.
I'm new to the game and this is my first profession. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Juve.
one word HARVESTERS
if your an arch you NEED you own harvesters if you just now getting novice arch than you need some
here is my current table of harvesters
2 base 9 wind power generators operateing at ~60%
3 medium 10mineral harvesters operating ~50% to 86% Ore, Steel, copper/aluminum
1 meduim 10 Chemical at 76% fiberplast/ polymer (source of income, archs don't use as much chem as others)
1 medium 10 Gas at 72% (reactive gas for power turbines)
2 personal BER 4 minerals at 56% (a cool new iron) !awesome stuff here!
i use the personals becuse the iron is on a slope and i can't place the medium on that slope
so lets do the math ok that is 7 @ 60 credit/hr and 2 @ 30 8*60 480 credits an hour and 300 power an hour
do that amth and you see i have ALOT of surplus power
hope it helps
ok thanks for the help.
Any ideas for grinding? Or at what stage is Architect most useful(Most popular item is unlocked)?
As already said, setting up your own harvesters is the best way to start out. Don't get overambitions or you'll find yourself without the money to keep up maintenance. Start out with some personals that you can dispose of rather than redeeding. Then once you've got the hang of it upgrade to mediums.
If you get in a bind then you can run survey missions between cities for easy (but boring) money. Scope out a couple cities and find out what has high concentrations of resources then: 1. get survey missionat location A 2. hop shuttle to location B 3. cash in survey mission 4. get survey mission at location B 5. hop shuttle back to A. Or if there happen to be a couple player cities relatively close together with artisan missions then you can just run back and forth between them.
You might try finding a master architect that you can sell walls to. We often buy them for a fair price and you can make a decent profit and gain XP while doing so. Furntiure usually makes a decent profit but novices start out with pretty poor items. You might make a decent buck off of factories but I don't know how the demand is nowadays. Other than that medium harvesters might work OK but as a novice I don't know what kind of extraction rate you can get so it might be hard to compete.
Small houses are hard to make a buck on.
Definitley use up all your lots with harvesters. You can sell 25 items on the bazaar. Keep it maxed always. Upgrade to med harvesters when you can, one at a time. Set aside money to buy a fusion gen. It will supply all your power needs. Just put it on a 40% or higher spot of radioactive. I rarely move my harvesters, only my fusion gen is moved. I just pull what is there. It is less hassle than to move them and it costs to move them. I had only mineral and flora harvesters when I started. All wood, wheat and berries sell. Copper, steel, ore and gemstones are in big demand.
Running delivery missions, either regular or Imperial, between Theed and Moenia and back pays 3400 to 3600 credits after shuttle costs.
Loudspeakers, Black Sun and Dark Jedi medallions from criminal npc missions net 3000 on the bazaar.
Get 0,1,0,0 skill first. That allows you to make statues. Statues require 2000 ore and 1000 gemstone and give 5500 xp. Fountains require less ore and some water and give 3500 xp. Mine your own ore and check private vendors for ore and gemstone.
ok thanks guys.
I went and setup 2 wind gens, 3 minerals and 1 chem harvesters, all personal.
I've been searching for or around the Anchorhead/Bestine area but it seems hard to find.
The macro im using for surveying is getting me more than my harvesters atm. ![]()
Anyone know a cheap vendor for Medium Harvesters on Valcyn?
