Were you one of the artisans that couldn't make a dime building weapond or armor? you couldn't even compete with the guy with only one level engenering higher than you. Everyone wants the best...

so what did you do?!? You set up a few modest harvesters and sold the output to higher level artisans. it was so profitable that you bought mediums to make more money. Finaal after hours of grinding you know what resources to use to make personal harvesters perfect. every harvester you put out was base 4 and power generator was base 9.

The you have the XP for achetecht WOW now you can MAKE medium havesters!

I think Archie was so popluar because it was the easy money profession.

The lower grade artisan couldn't fight you in the market, the higher level artiasns weren't even IN the market they have thier own vendors on didtasnt planets for you made a living.

I think we will see a significant achrie drop once vehicles come out. they will give great XP to craft and they will be sellable to every player for an easy 10 to 20k and thats a low guess. i think we weill see more droid engeneers and armorsmiths once the speeders come out.

prposition for a new profession "Refiner"

i harvest Steel as one of my MAJOR sellers. but in the real world can you go out and mine stell NO

your mine iron then MAKE steel. perhapes the devs could shift the resource trees and create a new profession. this would requre a new type of factory, new classes of iron and new harvester types. one that have bounuses for harvesting iron! new comercial buildings.

you can apply the same princible to lube oil, can you take oil striaght from the ground and throwit into your car NO oil refiners are needed. ArchAngel Please take this to the devs.

You should named this topic "I now think I know...."

but hey, that would have been wrong too, but if you would think about this stuff, you would not have made that posting.....

Let me clarify

I did not address this post to all archies in general. it is just the verbage of a trend that i've seen in multiple players that i have interacted with and my own experiance. arch is not the only profession in the artisan i planed to be from the character creation.

i in no way claim to KNOW without a shoudow of doubt anything unless i have interviewed every archie in the entire game in every galaxy then i would state i know. the entire tone of the post was meant to imply speculation.

I apologize for any offense i may have cause those who genuinely wanted to be the builders of the world that the other players play in.

but either way you cannot say that the refiner profession is not interesting even if they do not incorperate it. but what if they did? would any of us turn to a refiner create a character be the rockefeller in a galaxy far far way... huh i think its a decent idea to throw up there. or are we afraid todepend onother players for one of our most nessesairy minerals.

on another note does anyone else besides me thik that structural moudules require too many minerals to make... esspecialy if you need ten of them to make one wall module then three wall modules to make most anything. thats 8k oreand 1500 metal just in structural modules. nottincluding the final modules neededfor the build thats just the three wallsplease someone has toagree.

I believe the HARVESTER proceses the ore to make it steel and packs it up for you thast why you can harvest steel mainly thats why the fusions use MANUFACTURING MECHANISMS on em.

if your not happy with this go back to playing UO trying to mine ore and smelt it into ingots. dunno about you but after 6 years of blacksmithing my ass of in Ultima i find the idea of a "Harvester" quite nice so drop the topic.

My first mastery will be architect. Why? Not because I enjoy building stuff, but because it's a solid foundation for my character. My char will have harvesters, houses, factories and resources available for whatever I may need them for down the road. I'll make myself everything I need, sell a little to pad my wallet and then drop architecture and move on.

Is that wrong?

Nope. It's my $15 bucks a month

What don;t you understand i was NOT condemning anyone i wasn't complaineing, i was merly making an observation. just verbaging a trend, a more than obvious one

it may possibly be an imbalance in the artisan profession thats all one that doesn't even need fixed.

now i am not trying to get people to stop going arche

After reading a couple of Tarthos' post I don't think he likes Architects very much.

/disagree

I enjoy being an arch myself i am 0.0.1.0 just today. (yipee for me, lol, joke, don't take it the wrong way)

i think that these boards are the place for players to voice an opinion. the enntire point of ALL my posts are

- bring to the attention of all archs what the current trends are in case the don't know already (repetative i know) OBJECTIVELY

- give good information to new players so they know what they are getting into ( i didn't think it would take as much resources than it does)

- and finaly just to be an active part of the swg development, and just to get other people thinking (c'mon use your kidneys) /tapforehead (for those who don't get it don't think on it too long it will hurt your head)

hopefuly my posts will cause archs to think about what could make the game more fun (the economy is too large for a game like this, people shouldn't have to pay 30k for a decent gun)

most of my real life friend beta tested SWG and once it was released they stopped playing in three weeks because they saw how the game economy was headed.

i just want to create friendly, objective, conversation in the forums. no talk of "well i can do this and get this" "i don't care what you say, its my $15 a month" "i just want to go into the game and make as much money as possible so i can brag to my little brother that i have more money than he has" (oh my little brother does that to me, hes a brawler)

all ov the above was not intended to offend if the only thing you post in here is that how the profession is screwed and the crits are to often, i have heard enough archangel is probly bored of reading them because they ALL say the exact ***** thing there have been over 14 threads started just to say that either the criticals are to often or that harvester BER is too low at the max.

if i was spouting nonsense and all my posts conflicted with the games objectives than archangel has the duty to delete all my posts, and revoke my posting rights. he is the moderator.

NOTE: to Archangel: If i am not posting properly plaese tell me so in a personal message, any advie from you would be apreciated it looks like hte other posters do not think that any of my posts have anything to do with the profeesion and/or that i hate them is it something in my phrasing?

Actually the Master Architect/Master Artisan makes the most complicated hardest to craft item in the game, the crafting station. Everyone knows the top number of 45, and with 15 subcomponent and many different resources to track and gather to make these even past 40 is a big feat.

Architect became one of the most mastered profession in the game due to every PA needing a hall back when live hit. This was before experimentation was added to the game for architects and back when personal harvesters gave structure exp, not general crafting.

Nice thoughts, however completely wrong on all points. Please try trolling when you have a clue, because there are things wrong with this profession and it isn't too hard to hit on some real truths.
