Thread: Been two years... can we maybe get a new house?

I mean seriously... the furniture schems are nice, but ultimately worthless for us as they're single use now. WOuld it be asking too much for another style of house? Maybe <gasp> a merchant building thats got more room then my closet? Maybe a guild hall that actually looked like it belonged to the planet, not just different colored? maybe even different styles of guild hall? maybe a tuskan, gungun or military theme?


we ain't getting crap for the combat revamp. Can we maybe have one modeler spend one day and make a new house?! I'm almost ready to pay him out of my own pocket!

I can deal with new houses, and buildings. Can we even just get a little love with structures?

Here's an idea too! Actually make experimentation on houses worth something ie 95% medium house can hold 300 items whereas a 40% experimented house can hold 200 and a 10% house can only hold 100... hell just have optional storage modules that can be experimented on(ala crafting station hoppers from droid storage compartments) to give more storage space that way. I get so sick of having to do lot trades or use a factory for storage or even waste a vendor just so I can store all my resources for crafting and whatnot.

Not only would wehave to still look for/harvest vast ammounts of ore but we would have to use good stuff... Can you imagine the headace that would be? Could you imagine having to make a city hall (80,000 units) with nothing but quality resources... OMG we would go insame. We would have to up the prices of structures and people would go ape shiot. Imagine having to charge 20cpu for our structures becuase we have to use quality stuff... that's 64,000 credits for 1 small house and 1,600,000 for a city hall...

Which is why I mentioend the possibility of having specific modules such as droid compartments or structure storage modules that would determine how many items a building could hold or generators that could provide a lower cost of maintenance depending on how supior they are (same principal as ber 6 harvester components). Thenconstruction would stay exactly the same except the storage module's experimented size or the generator's quality would count towards the total space in the house or the maintenance rate. Same premise as Bio effect controllers for docs determine how many charges abuffpackhave.... or the quality of an armor layer effects the overall quality of the armor that we wear. Both of these items in their respective professions take very small amounts of resources in the total assembly, however they effect the overall assembly tremendously. Make sense?


This was the entire reason I dropped Arch and went doc then got an alt to do Master Artisan/Armorsmith/Weaponsmith as there was very little that an architect could do to distinguish his products from everyone else's.

Aye, walls and SMs are just one part of structures. There are plenty of other items that could hold an exp bonus.


Sorry but no droid storage modules. Why not have our structure storage modules actually do something? They could add to storage. Hell Gent urbines could provide a maintence cost bonus. But regardless... the point is even if they put these things in, it would be gosh darn swell to have a few new structure models to put them in.


What ever happend to the new structure thread? In fact has ANYTHING that has been brought up here in the past year been done?

Fusion exp fixed? Nope

Furniture colorization? Nope

Different types of harvs? Nope

Different buildings? We got a tent. I dont feel that counts tho. So Nope.

OMU stacking? Nope

Resource Stacking? Nope

Factory Exp fixed? Nope


What have we gotten?

some one time use schematics for furniture, some of which are not even for archi. Smugglers making furniture? palease.

City buildings? yeah I sold one when player citys went live. Kinda been in a slump since then.



When our correspondant wakes up from his coma would someone please tell him to maybe put up a little fight for his class? I have been an architect since game launch. I have been watching our issues for almost 2 years now!And they are repeatedly ignored. Time for an upgrade to the archi profession and time for our correspondant to take a more proactive role in our class development.

Our CS isnt the problem, its the priority list the Devs maintain. Lets face it, Architect is probably in the Top 5 of the professions that are "working as intended". Yes, there are a lot of things we'd like to have fixed, but nothing is "broken". Things like not being abel to experiment on factories, fusion experiemntation, etc, are not "broken". They are that way on purpose. Those things still "work".


So, IMHO, this is why we get little to no love. There are too many professions out there that are broken. This was the reaosn for the whole Combat Upgrade I suppose.


But I agree wholeheartedly with the thread subject. Come on Devs! Is it really *that* hard to put in ONE new house? Something for Talus, if you please. I HATE the Corellian/Generic houses. We need something new for Talus. Hell, I wouldnt even mind if they use an identical layout, just make a significant change to the various skins and textures!

Let's not get unhinged here, there will always be components that require junk resources. I seriously doubt that we'll need to experiment on SMs, our biggest ore sink.

I agree that our correspondant is not the cause of the problems or the problem with the profession. But he is our liason to the powers that be. Its his job to communicate our thoughts and feelings to the devs and push for things that we want and need. I have seen umpteen posts saying "well i mentioned it but they changed the subject" or "i mention this and they ignore me".. guess what? gotta keep askin. Gotta keep pushing. Its up to him to speak for us. So thats why I kinda want him to step up his efforts.


And yeah, why not houses for each planet for that matter? Rori doesnt have its own culture? how about racial houses? Maybe a wookie tree or ithorian nature thing. the possibilites are endless, but all we want is a few!

ya we definitely need some new stuff....i think more militaristac buildings would make our jobs more interesting...maybe if we were able to make turrets, bases etc. that go along with whatever faction we are aligned with...
