I am sure someone has already asked this nooblet question, but lets try this again for my benefit =)
What is the difference between a medium and small house? Aside from the footprint, I can see no advantange for a customer to spend more on the medium house. Am I missing something, or is this a wierd thing the devs left behind to mess with us?

Actual space is only the real difference. Unless I'm going to add decore to a house, I stick with small houses.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Was this on purpose, you think?

Couldn't even begin to think if it was on purpose. I'd have to say yes, since they just changed the item count in the houses, and they left the count for small and medium houses the same still.

Ya I would guess its just meant as a trade off between cost and floor space.
I run mediums just because I like the room.

MAINTENENCE!
Small houses are cheaper to run, and so more effective as wharehouses. But man do those mediums look good. Those medium Naboo's....mmmmm! Just love those things. Too bad I live on Tatooine...*sigh*

If you have no friends, then a small house is ideal. So having a larger house must mean you're a well-liked and sociable person! (brings out tables and puts large housing deeds on sale).
