Thread: Considering the Architect Profession

I've been considering which direction to take my artisan alt. I've always found architect somewhat interesting, and I actually enjoy surveying/mining as a change of pace. Here are my key questions:

1. Which architect items sell well? (I've heard houses and heavy harvesters)

2. How long is the architect market sustainable? With maintenance all deeded items never decay. It seems like the market would become saturated at some point.

Thanks for you thoughts

Houses and harvesters do sell very well, yes. From my experience I have also had city structures and city decor sell well.. Get to know a lot of player city mayors, there is a bunch of business to be had through them. It would seem to make sense at first that the architect business would eventually get over saturated. However, with new players entering the game constantly there is always new customers.

Actually you can do quite well selling most any part of the architect business. The key part is your expectation about how often your inventory turns over.

The self powered kits are just for harvesters though. And there are far more harvesters available than deeds so I would say their impact is relatively mild.

Some say because houses/harvesters can be redeeded our market will just die, but I've found steady and great money in arch for awhile now. Mostly because there's a constant influx of new crafters out there. Either people that wanna try crafting or are in it for the long haul. Either way they'll want harvesters for their needs. Same goes for resource miners. One of the easiest money makers out there that anyone can do. Arch's kinda have it made since there's always gonna be crafters making stuff and they'll always need someone, if not themselves, to mine resources. And everyone at some point wants a house to 'live' in and call home. =)

Bit of warning tho, stocking a vendor w/ harvesters/housing is VERY resource intense and you'll need either an established crafter's bank account to finance the bazillions of resources or start making a harvester farm to get you on your way to what we loving refer to as being an ore w'hore. =)
