these are awesome. i am inspired. i haven't ever seen any of these on my server, but i will be making one now...
i think i might try to make an indoorzoo too. too bad i can't place little signs about not feeding the animals. if only i had a vendor that could talk and tell people not to feed them.
looks nice. I make a decent living on Ahazi making fishtanks. I've build 8 or 9 so far and charge 100k each. No two tanks are alike and I go to great pains to see to it each of my customers has something unique. All my customers have been happy to pay that amount too. (my first 2 customers suggested the price, not me) A couple suggestions for those who want to make them...
**use cheap roundcafe tables for the bottoms and over lap them so you don't see the carpet. drop them on stairs so they are slightly different levels to give the gravel a rolling appearance. I make them and name them "gravel"
**where you have a corner in your aquarium, use steel or wood staffs to pick out the corner. Usually takes 2 of them, and they are a pain to line them up, but it really helps the look.
**in addition to fish, try a BE made Kaadu. They ARE aquatic creatures and they move. The movement of the Kaadu in my tank really brings it to life. Also add something like a BE made bearded Jax outside the tank. They look like a curious cat watching the fish.
**drop your plants on slightly different levels on your stairs, but keep the pots below the gravel level. It keeps the plants from looking too much alike, like they are in different stages of growth.
**use a round wall mounted control console on the wall next to the tank. Name it "Aquarium Life Support"
**it you are doing a large tank, try setting up a cave. Place a tool chest named "rock" high on the stairs and move it to the top of a pair of other rocks. Then add a fish inside the cave. I suggest the Laa, cause they look like bottom feeding catfish.
**SET UP MACROS AND ADD THEM TO YOUR QUICKBAR! The ones I have are... /move forward 1, /move forward 10, /move back 1, /move back 10, /rotate left 10, /rotate left 90, /rotete right 10, and /rotate right 90. A fish tank can take 2 to 3 hours to build... these macros will save your sanity!
**experiment. Try different things. Feel free to steal other people's ideas and improve them. Add a bantha statue to the bottom of the tank or a piece of wrecked machinery that looks cool.
If you're ever on Ahazi and would like to see my tanks, send me an e-mail and Ill send you waypoints for my completed projects. E-mails to Sal.
