How many lots (if any) do City Halls take? We are thinking about starting a city but nobody has any free lots right now so we need to know what to shift around.

City halls do not use player lots. They are owned by the city itself.

Cantina, hospital and theatere are player owned structures that take up player lots, but all the other city structures do not use player lots.

I'd recommend checking out the politician forum, there is probably more useful information there in guides or FAQs about cities and their costs.

Key thing you'll need to start any city is 10 citizens. If you don't maintain that then city hall goes *poof*.

Yeah, I checked their FAQ but nobody every said they dont use lots.. so I couldnt figure out how to rearrange for it.

We are really just tossing the idea around at this point. We dont want to relocate so if our planet is full we wont be building a city at all. Now we have to find out if there is room on the planet to place a new city and see if one can be built where we have been living.

+ If you have a City Hall and destroy it - it will NOT re-deedbut really, really destroy.

+ You need Novice Politician to place one

+ You need 9+yourself (10 ppl) within 24 hours of placing it to keep it or you lose it

Now, back to the quetion.

A City Hall is considered a Civic Structure and owned by the Mayor and the city and take NO lots.

Other Civic structures are Terminals, trainers, shuttleport, bank, garage and cloning also take NO lots, cost nothing to remove/replace (exceptto (re)placetrainers)) BUT require specific Politician abilities.

Cantina, Medical Centre, Theatre and Guild Hall are not considered Civic structures and do require lots and a specic Master to place.

I wish the cantina, med center etc also take up city lots and not player lots.
