Hi there! Just visiting the architect board for the first time!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm trying to lead a crusade to allow Architects to create faction banners (hanging and mounted). The best way I can think of how to do it is to allow any player to purchase the schematic for it fromtheir recruiter that requires an architect to understand and craft it.
Some day, it would be nice that Mayors could place mounted faction banners in the city, but for now, I'd be more than content with hanging up the banners in my guild hall or home.

How about different banners that can be placed on PA halls. In particular Generic halls. Give us the ability to sell those would be great.

Now this would be cool, but in all fairness, I think that something like this would be a good Tailor item. Not trying to take it off of our possible items list, but Tailors would be the ideal ones to make the banner.

I agree. On the tailor forums, we're asking for these to be added in as our part to the GCW, along with faction uniforms. Perhaps instead of Banners, architechts could make "faction statues" i.e Imperials could make Stormtrooper statuse or Darth Vader, or Imperial Cogs. While Rebels could make "Hero" statues (Maybe something like an elevated X-Wing with two pilots and an Astromech standing underneath) This is just a rough off-the-top-of-my-head idea.

I like the idea of Architects crafting factions statues - can you imagine a statue of either Darth Vader, Luke, Han and others placed in you city - now that would be kewl.
I do have a few concerns about banners - they would have to limit what can be put on them. Maybe, when creating them you are LIMITED topre-defined shapes and colors to select from and city or guild name only and only be placed by the Mayor and in Player Cities. Last thing we want is for them to be mis-used or abusedfor spamming etc....

Actually I was just thinking of the run of the mill Imperial Cog or Rebel "swan" for the faction banners. With possible different tpes of each (Standee like you see on the faction missions, or possibly one to drape across a wall.) But then, I may lack imagination.

You know, A thought occured to me. Tailor has no real dependancy on any other artisan class, but Architechts, Armorsmiths, and Chef's rely on tailor goods to make some of their items. (The only profession that Tailor seems even remotely dependant on are BE's, and that's only if they want to offer modded clothing.)
What if, for the proposed banners, they made a new subcomponent that Architechts would need to craft (Call it a banner stand or what not.)
This would both include the architecht in the process for making these (Though I doubt any Architecht would get rich making flag poles) and give tailors some of that inter-artisan dependancy to is supposed to be prevelant throughout the artisan proffessions.
Just an idea.

I like the idea of Faction Statues. The idea on banners I can't agree on because the only way i know of getting one is to go through the rebel theme park <don't know about imp banners> you get a Rebel Banner as one of the rewards.

I'm afraid I don't see the issue you have with the banners? Are you saying that you don't want faction banners because you can already get a rebel one as a reward for a theme park? Please explain to my why crafting faction banners (of possibly different styles and/or sizes) conflicts with this.
