Hello all Architects!
I've been decorating the Guild Mall in town and I am very close to finishing. I'm having one problem though, with the lighting.
I've always prefered the lighting torches give off, so I was going to use them and them only. However, I have to be standing at a certain angle to get ANY light from them at all. We placed a new building for the Mall, so the old one is still standing for a couple more days. There are a couple of torches in the old Mall, less than I had in the new Mall, and the place is really bright. The new Mall is so dark, especially when you compare the two.
The only difference between them is that I did use a couple candles in the new Mall for some accent lighting, because I wasn't getting anything from the torches. Could that be the problem, the candles throwing off the lighting of the torches? I had the same problem before placing any candles, though.
If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I can also provide screenshots if you'd like.
Thanks for any and all help you can offer!

It's more likely that you have your torches too close to walls or pillars. I get this same type of effect when i get stuff too close to a wall in my cantina.

I have the same problem as well. It almost seems like houses, etc...are broken down into grids and you have to be in or near that grid to see the effects of the lighting.
Or sometimes if I look directly at the area that I have lighting in I can't see it, but if I turn to the left or the right, I will eventually be able to see it.
Very strange.

That's my main problem. But I've settled with torches and a couple of floorlamps/candles, though it isn't giving me the sort of lighting I desire.
The old Mall is now empty, so in the middle of the empty room I sat a couple of torches. The lighting was perfect. I came back to the new Mall, no light.
It's the same type of structure for both (Generic Guild Hall) but the only difference is that the old Mall (with the better lighting) faces West while the new Mall faces South. I don't know if that would change anything at all, though.
