Thread: How much do you charge for your furniture? And do you name them custom names?

Hi. I would like to know how much you price for the different furniture.

And do you name the furniture?

For example, my containers (armoire, bookcase, etc) is named like this:

"Prefix" Regular "Containername"
"Prefix" Expensive "Containername"
"Prefix" Luxury "Containername"

This is the easiest for customers to set apart the various furniture.

Or do you name them custom names, like Vinidal, Thorahgi or similar? Isn't that more confusing for your customers? (I did it last time I was an architect).

I use a formula to price my furniture, based on 5cpu for generalingrediants, 10cpu for specific ingrediants, and 15-25 cpu for rare ingrediants (like Endor Wooly hide). If something is always selling out, I completely forget the formula and price it higher! I don't stock furniture as a money maker though, rather to attract people to my shop and maybe they'll buy something more expensive.

I rename some items, mainly ones where the default name is duplicated (i.e couch, chest, bookcase) and call them such things as Stylish bookcase, Luxury Couch, Chaise Lounge, etc. I also rename all white master furniture to state it is such.

Well I dont really have a formula as such, I tend to sell on my vendor for half what I do on the bazaa, so the furniture lvl 3 range (all that goldy type stuff) gets sold under the name " Ultra Modern" whatever the name is and I sell it on the vendors at 5k a piece, I also sell factory crates of 10, at the same price, no reduction for bullk purchase's as they are paying for the convenience of less inventory space taken up. I consider 5k a item to be a bargain price for a sofa, My Master range of furniture I sell exclusively on bazaa's for 20k a item, someone on my server sells these for 350c a piece!!! Im seriously considering the reselling business.

I rename furniture so that "ranges" all have the same prefix, to make it easier for a customer to pick what goes together, I try to give the items a name that sounds desireable for example Ultra Modern Glass Table, sounds better to me than "small table"

I have also had custom orders for matching named items after custoemrs have brought furniture off the bazaas.

I sell at a flat 6 CPU, except for the master work furniture. If it takes synth cloth it is 4k, if the piece doest then the cost is 2500.

I have a lot of requests for special named items. I also use a variety of names for all the pieces, but I make sure I am consistent on them. The master work has a variety of names stocked at all times, White Oak, Ivory, Classic, and a few others. Beds get renamed things just as King Size Bed, Wookiee Size Bed, Peko Peko Feather Bed, etc...

I typically charge 5cpu on Chilastra, and as mentioned above, adjust based on demand -- if it's not selling, I don't really drop it that much, I just stop making it, but if it is selling, I'll try to increase prices a bit based on what others are charging.

As for renaming, I do rename some of the stuff made from looted schematics. Technical consoles, for example, get named "Alderaanian Technical Console" or "Geonosian Engineer's Technical Console" based on whether or not it has the screen.

Mostly, though, I produce structures -- large/medium Tatooine houses and guild halls are the majority of my business -- and renaming those doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
