I used CEDF Rifles (or whatever the name of the most basic rifle is) to grind through artisan, and mabari chestplates to move through Armorsmith. (if mabari seem too complicated, do armor upgrade kits).

Depends on the number of resources you have. It will take you about 45 minutes to get from novice artisan to noice armorsmith using thre following formula:
1) do weapon crafting tools in practice mode until you hint LVL 3 Engineering ( longest haul in the whole thing, approximately 70 xp per tool in practice)
2) Make personal mineral extractors for the rest, at about 400 xp per extractor, should take you about 20 minutes to get from lvl 3 to novice AS. Cost in ore, iron, aluminum and copper should be in the range of about 15,000 total units so expect to pay between 15K and 45K in creds.

Reading between the lines I would say the original poster previously used the squill cave to master.

Can't believe I'm regrinding pistols again. I tend to get a speed sliced scout blaster after killing usual mobs near cities and getting pistol2. Then use crates and crates of speed pups so youre pretty much capped depending on the slice.
Pistol 3/4 Krayt Graveyard killing dune banthas
Novice upwards;Dantooine
Regular quenker missions not in a solo group (buffed/armor/brandy etc medic) and pointblak area or health shot1 till novice
Once you get a little better and have a nice speed sliced DX2 I tend to get sologroup level 99 missions and then move up to hurton huntresses cos they only stun and kneel, and they never intimidate or dizzy. I just use a pointblank area macro on the lair, wash/rinse/repeat. This way is easy if you have a reasonable melee defence.
Then about halfway up pistoleer I get bored and spend long periods shopping, or anything that doesn't involve grinding. You could just leave yourself as combatant these days and just hang around a city killing reb/imp npcs where theres a decent spawn rate.
EventuallyI finally get motivated and grind the rest really quickly.
There's plenty of ways to grind quickly but this is mine, check more posts and youll find loads

my friend is currently grinding pistols for me cause i have a ton of orders to fill on my alt. and i have grinded enuff in this game for 10 ppl. being as i change my prof. every week. He started 2 days ago. with nuttin. And he still plays his char at the same time so its not all grinding. He is bh 0/0/4/0 and will make master pistooler tonite. and he had no scout for bh either. thats in 2 days and prob only grinding at nite.
Grinding is very easy if u have the money for great grinding guns / armor / and can really speed through it without stoping.
my fastest grind was rifleman in about 1 day 1/2

I know I shouldn't say this in public, but I feel safe around pistoleer friends.
My favorite grinding spot is on Lok, the Canyon Corsair POI
Good Spawn, good loot (very resellable, not mega tapes or anything, but some good crystals and schems and such) good cash loot. There is spot to the west that the Gurk King spawns form occasionally, so you might be able to get his hide.
Levae a droid or a pet in the starport at Nyms and head to the closest shuttle on planet.
Really, it's kind of like a Fort Tusken that is outside and not camped to all hell by others grinding their templates out.
