In the FAQ, you will find a link to this:

1.2 The grind.

Architect is one of the quickest professions to grind through but it does require a large amount of resources. There are two main schools of thought on the grind. First you can choose to grind through statues on practice mode. Statues are is the quickest way to master and take about an hour or less. But they are also very wasteful and it will burn up around 840k of ore and gems. Alternatively you can build walls one at a time from structure modules and then either stock them for later use or resell them to recoup costs. This route takes about 10 times as long as grinding statues but you are not wasting the materials.

Before you work your way down this path, make sure you read some of our issues... while we still have an unexplicatbly healthy market (at least on my server), we don't have much repeat business. Also, you need a tremendous amount of resources to produce a robust product line; despite all this, I still enjoy this profession. I think it has something to do with my obsession with ore mining.

If you would like something a bit more rewarding ($) try armorsmith. People always have to buy armor, or at the very least armor repair kits. They are also about to experience a spike in demand ($$$) as a result of CURB.

Having said all this, you will find this forum a great source of comfort and support... If all else fails, give it a try and see if you like it, but start minig ore yesterday.

Hi

I'm a relatively new archi (within the past two months). Archi is a lot of fun, and well worth it in my opinion. It does take a ton of resources though, so it can be a pretty tough business to get into, I'm still trying to establish my vendors myself I'd look into getting into it though, but be sure to read about other crafting profs too. As it was said, a few of them are getting some perks from the CURB, where as archi has stayed just about the same for quitea long time.

I would hold off until the CURB is released.

Predicting mass exodus from the crafting professions as we'll likely be nuna-meat afterwards.

That's a funky sig, Tibbit.

As for the original poster. Architect can be a lot of work. Heck most businesses take a lot of time and effort to establish. Ultimately it'll depend on how much of both you're willing to expend.
