Thread: So, about that Novice Architect XP requirement...

That's for real? In beta, all elite artisan professions cost 6k gcxp... 33k for architect? All the other elites get off easily at 16k or 19k, so why does Architect get screwed so hard? The tier looks like it hurts even more... Going from 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k all the way up to 55k, 77k, 99k, 121k per branch! Why did they do such a thing? Power gamers rising up the tree too fast? *sigh*

I guess I should start grinding again... I think that they should at least cut the xp requirements in ALL of architect in half (except for master). What does everyone else think?

The novice requirement is pretty steep. For the rest, it should be about right. Master was way too easy to get before. I wish personal harvesters gave gcxp - that would help a lot.

I went to bed last night with 15k gcxp toward novice and woke up this morning with 3k

I agree with Deoka. I got to Master Artisan/Architect in about three weeksduring Beta.

Even though I'm in a PA, and getting help with resources and training, I figure it will still take me 4-6 weeks to get to Master Architect, which seems about right.

in beta, there were WAY too many architects... the new xp scale sucks (and might get tuned down a little), but it'll hopefully disuade all the closet architects from just "pickin it up so they can just build there own house"... I'm doing Architect because I actually enjoy the profession, and I also want to be the supplier of all my PA's needs. I just wish the actual resource requirements weren't so steep to build stuff there

That's the real huge killer for me... having to spend a week or more of harvesting resources just to build some of the small/medium structures.

Yeah, I'll agree that the skills within Architect were too cheap during beta, but 33k gcxp? I say maybe 15k for all Elite Artisan professions that require gcxp.

In beta, I could get Furniture I as soon as I made one small house... So, maybe the 55k, 77k, 99k, 121k isn't SO bad.

It doesn't bother me. You need to weed out the weak. Also like the other guy said you don't want everyone just building there own house. Then who would you sell to?

The more I think about it, the more I'm happy with the change.

It adds prestige with the Architect, and also gates out those not serious about making the Architect their main profession.

I've got Engineering IV and I'm 10% of the way to Novice Architect... I'll be a master in no time!
