Think about it people!! with this change it is now how it should have been from the start. Power and maintenance were bugged now they are fixed.

Making it harder to get resources means one thing only. Now that PA architects have the Halls and are moving on to something else it is us the artsians that will profit.

You think 10K a house is going to stay. of course not the price is going to SKY-ROCKET. I said they would once PA halls are built and PA arch's are done now they will go up even more. Prices are going to go through the roof people. That means no more Pistol specialist with more money then Novice architects. all the money they have made on Destroy missions are going to be spent on our items.

If it take use a day to gather all the resource needed for a house then we sell for a Days worth of destroy mission. there time for our time. makes sense.

People post your feedback. And artisans post what you think is Fair

I must respectfully disagree. I don't think prices will raise too much. Perhaps up to 20k for smalls and then scaling up from there depending on size. Crafters always think they can charge what they want and control the market but it's just not possible in these types of games. The buyers are the one who control the prices and there will ALWAYS be someone willing to sell to the buyer for what the buyer believes is a fair price. If the buyer doesn't like ones persons prices, they find another seller. It's proven true in every mmorpg to date in regards to crafting and it will be no different in SWG. Crafterswill usually expect people to pay high range prices for the time and materials used and the buyers always expect to pay low end prices for the time and materials involved. In the end, the buyer will refuse to pay what they believe is a high price and move on to find some one willing to sell fora lower price. The only way to control the market is to control what ALL crafters charge and again, that's impossible to do. I do believe crafters will try to raise the prices of houses but if you really believe people are gonna pay much higher prices than they are now, be prepared to be dissapointed. I've seen it happen in UO and DAOC and this game will be no different.

A good way to stop that is by having a variable "Fair Market Value" fine system where the server tracks sales of items and establishes a range of what the going rate is. it is not broadcasted or anything but if people are undercutting a huge amount they get charged with a steep fine. Prices can slowly go up or down in-game when people start charging a little less and everyone else matches and it keeps going down like a price war. and the same it can go up as well. I know this system isn't perfect but it has been used on another MMrpog. I forget which but I am sure someone will post it here

Well I totally disagree cause what happens to that first Archi who has someone offer him a ton of resources more then he even needs to make the 1 house Pa Hall whatever then only charges him 1500 credits.. that Archi now gets hit with a steep fine cause he got a good deal out of someone? Totally does not make sense to me..

Hionjinn, 20k is a substantial increase considering people were charging 15k or less before. That's a skyrocket to me.

Anyway I'd rather not have a fine associated with undercutting because I'd like the market as close to a free market economy as possible. The important thing is that we're finally being held accountable for maintenance. The architect who does choose to undercut is gonna be hurting himself mostly. He's not gonna be making enough to pay for maintenance, training, etc, not gonna be able to maintain his generators or extractors. And as you go up the tree, maintenance costs for the better extractors increase as well. He'll end up broke with no resources to make his stuff.

Anyway I like the patch for a lot of reasons. Prices will actually start to make sense again - no more buying a house for the same price as an experimented pistol. Also those players out there who are powerleveling through the tree because they own 100+ extractors are gonna have a hard time maintaining them. Finally I'm not pressured to do favors for people anymore, since it's 100 times harder to get resources.

We all knew it was coming anyway.

Well I agree on the making people pay maintence and power but the rest including stops even working if it goes 1 credit in the hole hurts everyone.

How does that hurt everyone? Just keep a day of backup power and maintence in the harvester. How often will you not show up to a harvester at least one time in a day?

It doesnt matter.

The economic system of these games is built to go down. People will ALWAYS under sell everyone else. Its the way of things. All it takes is one guy to pump a few k credits into his harvestors and go on vacation to the beach or somthing. He comes back and poof starts selling houses or something are greatly reduced price beucase he has the resources to do it and he knows he will sell them. Bulk makes up for alot of things.

There is no real way for everyone to make money. Its only going to go to a certain few. IMO none of it matters anyway. Armor? As soon as someone starts selling the next level, the previous one is almost unsellable. Weapons? Servers been up a week. How many CDEF pistols do you sell now? Houses? Dropped almost 60% in price in a week. Tailor? Hell i cant GIVE clothes away that are less then feildwear3.

Everyone has the ability to get the resources to make the items. Its just a matter of who can make them the earliest. Unless the powers that be constanly add new stuff to the mix for us to make and sell, nothing we try and sell except the new highend stuff is going to net a profit.

Just my two cents.

ManaMan I agree with you. The first people to make it to the next level are going to be the money makers and set the tone till they make it to the next level at which point the previous level is screwed trying to sell anything. Look at bone armor now. I used to be able to make a profit and now it's hard to get rid of it. At some point a month or two down the road as a lot more people make the higher levels things will stabalize to a viable economy.

I think Architects will probably be screwed in money over the longhaul. As of yet I have not heard any talk about quality differences. As long as all houses are the same quality there will always be someone there selling just at cost or below to get the XP. For weaponsmiths, armorsmiths and so on, quality makes a difference. I will gladly pay 9k for a scout pistol from Iduno since it is the best damage and lowest special move cost vs some guy selling for 1k and not good quality.

Hopefully Architects will have something they can build where quality matters, battlefield structures. Or depending on the quality of the house the upkeep varies. If I can buy a house that costs 200 a day I will pay a lot more than a house that costs 350 per day.

All in all I think the fix is a good thing for the game and artisans in general, but I don't see how architects are ever going to be wealthy or compete with other artisans. I think architect is nice and fun to have as a side profession, but not the best to be just an architect.

You hit something interesting right there. I really wish it would be possible to make better "quality" houses.. perhaps some that take less upkeep per cycle, or harvesters that harvest better, or take less power. Experimentation as an architect is more or less useless, where as a weaponcrafter it's one of the more fun aspects of the game.
