I just recently constructed a personal mineral harvester. I dumped 750 credits into it. What the hell kind of fuel do I have to put in it? and how much per day? and where can I find it? How much does the fuel cost or do I make it myself? I used my chemical survey device and found a bunch of petrochemical fuel units by sampling but apparently that is not the fuel it wants.

I then constructed a gas processor nearby but it wants energy and credits to operate it too ... how much credits and how much fuel does IT need? Where do I find this fuel?

This is absolutely insane how much they expect us to just know. Where do you guys find this information?

Now both my mineral harvester and gas processor are just sitting there in the desert ... probably wasting away until I figure this out.

You need energy for your harvesters. To get energy you can build a wind power generator (it requires maintanance, but no power obviously). Use a wind current survey tool to find a good spot for it (you can't sample wind). You can also use radioactives as energy (found in the mineral survey tool). This can be sampled or you can use a mineral harvester to get some. Personal extractors use 600 units of power per day.

Here's what I have found:

There are two rates listed in the Status window of a harvester (one for Wind Generators, as they require no power): Maintenance rate and Power consumption rate (they may be called something else, but similar).

A mineral harvester takes 720 maintenance per day (this can be found by adding maintenance, and watching the x days, y hours display). The rate shown is 15. Therefore, it seems reasonable that the rate is the amount of maintenance the harvester requires per half-hour (15x48 = 720).

Similarly, the harvester shows a Power consumption rate of 25. The display for time is bugged, and seems to be off by a factor of 60 -- that is, when it says (0:39), that means 39 hours. Looking at these numbers, it would seem that the Power consumption rate is the amount of power a harvester will use in one hour.

Or, so it seems. Could be wrong, of course.
