I want to put some furniture on my balcony, but the game will not let me place it outside. I hope that this is a bug that will be fixed some day, I want to have a tropical balcony!

I don't think it's a bug.

I remember reading a post on one of the beta forums where someone was complaining about people being able to survey/sample from their balconys in complete safety. The dev response was that thiswas intended. So apparently the balcony counts as being "outside" since you can't survey inside a building.

that sounds like the devs were just trying to take the easy way out... much easier to say 'err yeah we intended to do that' than to fix it.

i'm not sure how you can sample resources that are 10 feet below you (or whatever it is).

i think you should be able to build furniture on balconies.

Yea, I wanted to put a nice plant/tree and maybe a bench and a torch or two on my front porch (small Corellian house) and was disappointed to find out it couldn't be done.
