Thread: Some suggestions rather than complaints on the house problem
First off i didnt become an architect cause it was my goal...i just kinda found myself Eng 4 with lots of points to burn from other stuff i was enjoying makeing and thought heck ill make myself a house ! hehe
Anyway the problem i think thats the biggest with house prices is simply that there not needed ..supply and demand is a simple rule and youll see way more people selling than shouting to buy .. SWG inventory system is much more forgiveing than the old EQ system many of us are used to . so even though its a big world and the bank can be a long walk its no biggie to not get your stuff banked before ya log so your ready to roll next time you log in ....so one of the big bonuses of houses (storage) is kinda wasted, house prices would go up even with the people only seeking the skill ups IF they could turn a better price faster right now most people would rather drop 15k on an uber armor peice or a nice weapon than a house. but for a measly 5-10k sure why not ill get a house it will be "neat" ....no one sees it as a real advantage to have one.
So how about we toss some ideas toward the people calling the shots that would make people WANT a house ..and WANT to upgrade to a larger one soon as they can afford it.
1. how about if you log in INSIDE a house you lose your battle fatigue ( hence a good nights sleep)
2. vehicles and mounts...im asssumeing there will be some upkeep costs for these how about inching that upkeep up a bit if no house is owned...allowing it to becut down with a house and more with bigger houses...after all haveing a place to stable/park thats stuff would keep it in better shape =)
3. how about after a house has been maintained for X amount of days ...allowing the option for it to be returned to a state of resources rather than only being redeeded . this would cut down on the amount of smaller houses floating around that we will eventually see and i would think some people buying a larger house would maybe rather have the resources for there own uses rather than selling there old house
4. how about a bonus to craft type EXP when its made in your own house with crafting stations ?
5. how about some limited bazaar console forhouses or for just the bigger ones maybe allowing you to sell but not buy...or vice versa ..no i dont wanna see the trips to town being made useless all together but..houses need perks =).
6. how about a personal cloneing station/option on medium and bigger houses ..make it subtract a resonable amount from the house mant.pool when used as a spawn point choice
heres just a few things i think would be nice...and not outside the realm of doability houses need to be desired ..and needed to some extent just like real life if we ever hope to see anythingclose to areal economy form.
Yea i know the people powering up the skill tree flooding the market with cheap houses is a problem but i think that will taper off soon with the new costs of harvester upkeep ...but thats just something thats always gonna happen to some extent i think.
