Thread: Price check on medical factories?
I believe it would be a food and chem factory, since that is the crafting tool as well as the crafting station I use.
What is the going rate on these things?

You got my money for the house, furniture, crafting station, harvesters, and other random items. 45k is extreme to require to even be *able* to make high lvl stims. Not the stim itself, but the component requirement is *2 identical --- --- --- made in a factory*.
Like I said, sure wanting to mass produce the stims itself at 45k base cost for the equipment is reasonable. But to *need* factory goods just to make a F'n stim? Lets just hope there is some sort of market demand for this stuff after I get the factory, cuase I'm running on thin pockets keeping everything else funded as it is.
I wish I could complain about people ruining my market with low price garbage, since that would mean there was a market for my goodsin the first place
.
At this point in the game, 45k seems very low priced. Not many of the heavy harvestors are up yet, so, gathering up the materials takes time. And, I understand that credits may be not so abundant for you as a doctor as they are extremely tight for me as an architect. The only classes that are bringing in profit at this point seem to be the armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. People seem willing to pay above market price for these items and very few want to pay 50% below marketprice for architect items, which is fine. And, when i say market value, I am primarily referring to only the cost of resources that are being sold on bazaar which are running 7-10 credits per. Economy is strongly fed by supply and demand and with so many people willing to manufacture items for the sole purpose of gaining experience points, I do not expect anyone to really be willing to pay market anything until that behavior changes.
Ardean this is my advice. I am not an architecht but I don't begrudge them making a profit if they have to pay for it. Hopefully one of them will relax in a cantina I dance in, come to an event I'm at or need something one of my friends can provide and properly pass on the money for the economy.
I'm not an architecht but I do medicine. You need to do in the game what doctors in real life have to do when they need a shiny new piece of equipment. They have to group together to get it. Hospitals afford stuff clinics can't. Clinics have stuff individual practitioners can't. Its an economic scale.
You as a doctor need to canvass a few other doctors in your area or go to the PAs and do one of two things:
Find a group of like doctors that will share the cost of one factory and the administrative rights to it. If they don't help maintain it then they can be taken off the admin list for its use. That way you all share the upfront burden and you can all use it in perpetuity.
Or go find someone who already has one and pay a fee or a percent of your manufactured goods to use it. Maybe another doctor or PA has one and needs the parts too but prefers being away. Make a deal where you can use the factory for your goods and give him 25% of the identical goods as your fee.
Don't try to own it all and be all of it, this isn't a home computer game with goals to reach in order to "win". You might find forming your first HMO a bit fun, or getting in contact with people just finding out if there's interest in this.
Good luck with your medicine I know doctor's work hard.
Even after reading the suggestions, I still think it's out of whack. Like I said, to mass produce: sure. To require, bogus. It's not like we are building things which have a market demand. We forked up the money and are dealing with it now, are we happy about it as well as teh factories crap performance for the price? No.
