Thread: I come not to flame, but to help...plz read
A real solution would be to provide some special advantage to the non-crafter for owning a house. I can easily forsee that a person won't be allowed to own a vehicle without a house (tho they may not incorporate that)... But we need the "average joe" to actually need a house. Once the Demand grows, the prices will match. Just look at what it does for weapons and armor.

Why not just made houses more desirable? Add more functions to it, make it so that architects can "design" custom made houses using simple "bits and pieces"? Fix all the annoying bugs that come with owning a house.
Please don't suggest making resources more scarce. Are you an architect? Do you realize how much resource an architect can go through in one crafting session? Do you know architects are already forced to sell their finished product equal -or- below the current market price for raw materials? The reason for low price is -NOT- the over abanduance of materials and resources, it is the desirability of the finish product. The reason that weaponsmith and armorsmith can sell their products at 10cr/unit material is because people WANT to own those uber guns and armors. The reason why nobody gives a **edit** about the post-nerf probot is because nobody want a paper-made robot as their tank. The issue here is the desirability of the finish product and not the amount of resources in the market right now.
There are many things wrong with the architect profession. Building prices are too low, critical failure is a potenially back breaking issue for architects, lack of desirability for their finished products (droid engineers have it worst), too many bugs in housing and factory installations, lack of forced decay to the finish product meaning at one point the market will no longer accept new products being made, and various other issues. The amount of resource is -NOT- the issue here. Please don't make a suggestion that punish the profession instead of helping it grow.
That is the stupidist comment I ever heard.
Noone is ever forced to sell anything below what they want to sell it for.
You just have to get an alternate source of income until your sales go thru.
I dont sell for less than 5 cr per resource and I still have people waiting for my resources to catch up with the demand.
I feel sorry for the idiots selling for 2 cr or lower per resource for they are only shooting themselves in the foot by lowering the demand and the average price so that people dont have a real understanding for the actual requirements it takes to make a house.
Increase the resource requirements, and remove criticial failures for those houses. Easy.
Triple or quadruple the resources requirements for houses, via structural modules only, then remove all possibility of failure on final combine. Remove the risk, massively increase the cost, houses become more scarce by nature.
actually in reading some of these posts I see something: we are architects not contractors. Huge difference. Arcs go to school pay a lot of money and DESIGN buildings. Contractors gather resources and build buildings. We SHOULD be able to custon design houses, or furniture, just as tailors should be able to design clothing. Maybe this is where its going, but really great addition to the game if you could as a master arc be able to design new houses based on ideas from other players.
