Architects about to boffed again.. (as usual)

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=merchant&message.id=5731

Vendor maint fees for NPCs are about to go into effect.
This will hurt architects most who are already hurting.

Why are we always ignored or not thought about?

We have the most expencive items in the game and the lowest profit margin.
WIth the current formula it can cost 10k -20k a day (or more) just to keep houses and such
on our vendors.. If this happens I guess we just go back to hocking in town?

Please help push the devs to make it charge -PER ITEM- not per value.

I hate those days so screaming spam in the streets but your right that we will have no choice under the current maintenance scheme. I have already voiced my opinion lets see if the dev's actually have ears.

I dont think this will go into affect. I read the first 3 pages of it (was the same thing over and over again) and each and every person said they do not agree with this and to implement a sales tax instead.

The devs arent dumb. If they read it, they would know that people will just put a price list on their vendors at 1 credit (so they dont pay any vendor fee), and then do sales through e-mail. This will cause an incoviences and less fun to the game for the seller and the buyer.... and since it will bypass the vendor, the devs wont have a money sink.

They have proven everything they do is based on trying to keep the game going with a database that will not work for this game.

1. Nerfed Mellons
2. Nerfed House Items
3. Removed drops
4. New vedor maintainance proposal

People are usingvendors to store items. Put it in your basement and put a 1000000 price tag on everything. (they made it so you cant make a house private with a vendor in it now) This way you can store as much as you want and only paying current super low fees.

To stop this from happening they are now proposing the new Maint fee (which is based onPRICE of items so you dont use it to store things). They also made all furniture NON collidable so you couldnt lock your vendor in a room by blocking the door with a collidable object (which would allow you to put items up for 1 credit after they implement the maint)

Its obvious. no?

If you think about it. everything they do is about lowering the database useage. How else can they implement vehicles or a space expantion with a broken database?

Simple solution really .... just put your furniture on the vendor and other assorted low cash stuff and when someone wants a deed throw it on and let em buy it ... If they charge by value every 45 minutes if the customer is quick in comming to buy it it won't cost you a thing ... with the tax it will

The database is an issue, obviously. However we have to look at how people are using vendors, and were using factories and other things. They were not being used as intended, they were being used as storage bins. People horde things, it seems to be some sort of genetic code. Gather all you can and store it, never know when that broken datapad might come in handy.

If they make it charge for the amount of items listed, then they will just limit the number of items you can list.

Also, this is another thing that I believe isn't NEW, its a fix to the bugged vendors that weren't charging maintenance correctly.

personally, I've never had one of these vendors, (i have the little robo bartender since I didn't want to waste skill points in the merchant tree). I've been paying these maint rates all along so I learned quickly that I only put furniture and personal harvesters on the vendor. or if I can't meet with someone or the trade is bugged I put it on the vendor for pickup only if I know they'll be picking it up very shortly. Personally, I've NEVER done even one shout in the streets of town to sell things. I'm always busy and to be honest I almost never even answer someone yelling that they want to buy something because I have plenty of orders to keep me busy.

yes, it hurts architects, but believe me it will affect others as well. I have a tailor friend who always kept her vendor stocked with around 200k in product so people would have a great selection when they came to her place. No way she can do that now and stay in business.

The devs have stated all along they want player social interaction, vendors were never intended to be the only way to sell things in the game. They are there for a purpose and if you want to utilize them you will need to pay the fee for it.
