Thread: I just crit failed.. AGAIN...
What the hell.
How am I able to survive if I keep failing my final product? I'm literally going broke with these failures.
Something needs to be done about this..... seriously.
Happen to have a non -11% crafting device?
I just redid all of my Crafting Devices to 9%-12% efficiency and i have had like 1 crit failure/hour as compaired to my previous 5-6/hour with my pre patch -10% or so ones.
(This is artisan, droid, and tailor crafting thou)

I have a recommendation for you. Leave the profession!
Seriously, there are things you can do to minimize crit fails and whining on the boards is not one of them.
What is the "functionality rating" of the crafting station youare using? (Anything above 20 really helps)
What is the experimental effectiveness and rating of the crafting tool youare using? (Mine are no less than 12, 91% experimented)
Whatkind of materials are you using? What is the"unit toughness" of the materials? Ifit isn't fairly high (800+) then I wouldn't count on your finalcombines going very well.
Your failures are not generalized to the entire population. Of the last final combines I have performed:
3Factories, 3 Med Houses,3 LargeHouses,5 Med Harvestors, 3 Large Harvestors. I have failed once, on the combine ofone of the large houses, and I was using a craftingstation (this was before thepatch so wecouldn't tell) with a functionality rating of -12.
So quit your bitching. Suck it up or go do something else. We don't need more architects.

i had made several large structures without a failure. (i accidently failed a medium chem harvester because i used some crappy ore in the final assembly)
For those that think OQ means everything. It Dont.
Just look at the schematic. Harvest stuff that the schematic uses and then try again.
Unit Toughness is considered for MOST of the architect schematics. Also Decay Resistance is big as well.
Just do some research. You will see.
Goody for you Nor.
I have and it does. Your chance of failure is modified by the quality of the resources you are using. If you use 10 structural modules with a 25% rating you will fail less on wall module assemblies than you will if you use 10 structural modules with a 5% rating.
And the wookie is right, OQ matters not one wit for most architectural assemblies. It's all about Unit Toughness and to a lesser degree decay resistance. Just like I can use OQ 967 copper with a 537 conductivity rating on my crafting station assemblies and get crappy stations, or I can use 910 conductivity copper with an OQ of 317 and get excellent stations.

make a powerup (which does use OQ as the pre req) with 500 oq, and then make one with 900+ oq resources.
it makes a HUGE difference in not only the base percentage of the item when crafted, but the amount of experimentation you can get after its crafted.
ITs the same for ALL crafting professions.
I still haven't seen any documented evidence of crafting stations and tools real effects.
There have been posts of high crit fails from people both with high effectiveness and low effectiveness on both of these and crit fails seem randomized amongst them.
personally i haven't seen much difference from before patch but I haven't built much either.
when I see empirical data from someone, or a post from the devs I'll start believing this is all move than just superstition.
as far as the resource quality, yes it matters for experimentation, but the only thing that we've seen a proven effect on that for architects is the crafting stations and as I already said, no one actually knows what that does.
