Thread: My solution to the value/1000 per 45 minutes vendor issue.
I am going to use a private house as a delivery venue and scrap the merchant profession all together. Since I mainly sell stuff on a per order basis and rarely have more than 1 item to deliver a day this is feasible.
All you should have to do is plop down a small house (empty), take an order for an item, have the customer pay in advance, when it's finished drop the deed/deeds/item/items on the floor of the house and give the buyer admin rights so that he/she can drop by and pick them up at his/her leisure.
Now this assumes that you have a good REPUTATION and can be trusted but if you're like me then you have a normal set of clients and/or have been refered to someone via those clients.
Sincerely,

Heck, considering how unfair this is going to be to ARCHS who already have to deal with crits costing us 27,000+ resources (not counting crits on componets to get there) and how hard it is to sell our goods at a decent 6cr per resource in the first place, I'm even considering trading lots with someone on a different server so I can actually have a house to do this.
This is an EXCELLENT idea.
One lot is certainly worth /1000 per 45 minutes.
At least I'll still get to keep selling large items. I'll miss selling furniture though.
It's agood idea but I'd suggest one that could lead to possible problems. With a vendor sale, you get a "receipt" in the form of an email; with a face-to-face sale, both parties also know with 100% certainty that something has been passed over.
With the house drop-off idea, you will find yourself relying on the buyer's honesty, and sooner or later you may run across someone who's less than honest. What's to stop them taking the item and then claiming it wasn't there when they got to the house? It's an unlikely scenario, but one that could cause you headaches later on. Could you be 100% certain it wasn't taken by a third party using an exploit, or didn't just go 'poof' because of an as yet undiscovered bug.
It's a nice short-term fix, but I just wish they'dsort outthe vendor issueand come up with a feasible workaround for architects to sell their goods without the crippling maintenance.

very bad idea for the sole reason that it takes up 2 lots...your crazy if your gonna spend 2 lots on your own house, 2 on a factory, and two to sell your products on...that leaves you 4 lots for materials...and thats 4 if your lot count is not buged -.-
