Thread: Help in decorating a home....

Ooookay, I've been banging around the galaxy since this thing went live, but I've only just now decided to part with some hard cold credits and buy a house. Yeah....

Heh, anyway, now that I have this big empty thing I would like to start buying furniture from some of you Architect people, but I have a few questions. For starters...how do you get things to "stick" to the wall? I've been in shops before and I could swear I saw weapons on the wall (I could be mistaken on this one though). Whenever I "drop" weapons in my house they just plunk onto the ground. Is this something that could be done, could the weapon be placed on a table, or am I just out of luck? Are certain items just "programed" by SOE to hover (i.e. fish, armor, etc) or is there a way to adjust their height?

Also, I have an old pet I no longer use. I was going to just have him standing in the hallway as I've seen other people do. Is there some special command for this, or do I need a deed from a Bio-engineer before I can have a pet on display?

Thanks much for your help with this!

Hi, As far as placing items on a wall yes you are correct it can be done. It takes a little work and practice however to make it work.

Drop the item on the stairs at the height you would like the object. (You must have stairs to do this Then move the object to it's desired location. Use these commands:

Target The Item

/move forward X ( X = distance you would like to move the item with a max of 50 pixels) example: /move forward 45 (Would move the item 45 pixels in the direction you are facing)

Other commands are

/move back x

/rotate right Y ( Y = degree you would like to move the item with a max of 360) example: /rotate right 45 (Would rotate the item 45 degrees to the right)

/rotate left Y

By using this method you can move items and rotate them from the stairs of your house. Small houses do not have stairs however.

Thank you very much!!!

I went all out with this sucker (Large Corellian) so I'll be able to play with the stairs/item thing quite nicely.

Thank you very much again!!!!!!

Read the merchant forum FAQ v2.5 for all the decorating help you need.

Pets cannot be dropped or moved into inventory once committed to datapad, so you're out of luck on that one. Only way to display animals in your home is to get BE made ones and not tame them.

If you want to put a pet in your house, it must be purchased from a bioengineer. Bioengineers make animals in deed form, Pet deedsgo in your inventory and canbe dropped in a house. When a pet is tamed, it moves to your datapad. After it moves to your data pad, you can't drop it in a house anymore.

I have a question about moving a house. Do I have to empty my house of the contents before I move it without losing my furnishings? And can I move a house from planet to planet, Like from Talus to Tat?

Thx

Yes, the house has to be empty. Anything left inside will be destroyed.

You can place a house on a different planet *IF* the planet is listed on the deed. Only post patch houses have this ability. If you have a pre- Player City patch, sorry you need to buy a new house.
