Here's a work around I just tested if your /move up or move forward commands don't work due to nearby items named similarly:
target your item
type /move up up XX or /move forward forward XX
Don't ask me why it works, I didn't code this mess

Are you sure that this won't try to move the 'upholstered chair' up and the 'forward xxx' forward ? It seems that the command uses the first 'up' or 'forward' to target items named similarly.

great this does work, thanks.
I found a connection between this and making my house public, when it was private i could move everything fine, then i made the structure public and the up and forward commands dont work!
anyone else get this, by making my house public am i inviting the forward outpost into my house?

I was trying to get my 'up' command to work and kept getting an error till i tried something different.
/move <item name> up xx
select that wooden chair
/move chair up 10
select that small potted plant style 1
/move small up 100
it works everytime.

The bug appear even if it's a unique item you want to move. My brand new "Rancor" lamp simply won't budge from the floor...
