I hope there's someone on at this hour on a Sunday night (Monday morning for our cross-atlantic SWG bretheren) to answer this question for me, but here goes anyway.

Precisely what difference does experimentation make in the Architect profession?

I ask this question out of ignorance, as I have not yet started into Architect, but I am about to and was wondering this fact. I'm a master Bio-Engineer with one of my characters, and I couldn't live without my experimentation, it makes a huge difference to my creatures, but speaking from ignorance, admittedly, I fail to see how this translates to Architect.. Does it make the houses taller (joke) or the gardens greener? I use sarcasm obviously, but I would really like to know in anticipation of following said profession path.

Thanks a lot guys.

Currently, the only place experimentation is used by architect is for harvesters. Rate is determined by the experimentation of mining units and final deeds. You can experiment on walls and factory hopper sizes, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Experimenting on the final build on houses seems to determine how long they will last with no maintanence.

I however have no wish to test this...heheh

With the current publish architects can also use experimentation on any of the lighting objects (lamps, candles, etc) to increase the lifespan of the items. Just make sure to make and experiment on the lighting objects that have a "lifespan" attribute. There are still lamps that can be made that are decorative only and have no gained value by experimenting on them.

What about crafting stations?

We do make crafting stations and they can be experimented on. However, they use the ARtisan experimentation skill points.

K, so I'm a novice Architect, crafting stations don't use Architect experimentation points at all? So am I right in saying I can make stations just as good as a Master Architect (I'm a Master Artisan too) at Novice?

Assuming you're the same level artisan as that master architect, yes.

When I started as an architect, one of my main sources of income was stations. We had some good copper show up on Bria and being a master artisan I was making 42+ stations and selling them for quite a hefty profit, financing my climb to the top of architect.

Thanks guys, I was holding off stocking these items as I thought I'd need Master to produce quality stations.

He makes the best, I know, I own one

As to whether you can make as good as a Master Architect, the answer in this case is NO, because I'm a Master Architect, and I can't even make 'em, I dont have master Artisan, so this is one Arch you can certainly make BETTER than !
