I need to make droid eng components and wondering how do i make items that require other items from factory crates? Say i am making an item and it requires another from a crate this is so confusing .... maybe i just dont know what i am doing which is likely to.

Lets assume your making itemX, and itemX requires 2 itemY's.

Make schematic for itemY.
Make some itemY's in a factory.
Make schematic for itemX using itemY's from factory.

You can then make as many itemY's in your factory as you require, when there made move them from the output hopper to the input hopper, put in the itemX schematic (plus any other required resources) and away you go.

First you need a factory of the correct type, for droid eng parts I believe this is an equipment factory, but best check this. For the sub-components check the schematic for these, if it says they need to be identical then you will need to create these in a factory, again make sure you are using the right factory for these sub-components.

Now, let us say that you want to make 10 of droid component x, and droid component x requires 2 identical sub-components y.
This means you will need to make 22 sub component y's as you will use 2 up making the schematic for x. Collect together enough resources for 23 y's, you must have enough units of each resource in one exact named type, e.g.. it is not good enough to use n units of Kamris Iron, if the sub component takes say 100 units of iron then you will need 23*100 units of a 'named' kamris iron.

Once you have enough resources go to your crafting station, open your crafting tool, select the draft schematic for the sub-component you wish to make, enter the ingredients and click 'assemble', the next view you will get will give you the option to 'create a schematic' selct this and change the number you wish to make from 1000 to 22 (if you are making more or less then change this to what you want). The schematic will now be entered to your datapad. You will 'use up' the resources for 1 sub-component in making this schematic, that is why you needed resources for 23 of them.

Go to your factory and call up the radial, select options and 'enter schematic' you will get a list of any schematics you have made. Select the schematic for the sub-components you require. Now open the radial again and under options select 'access ingredient hopper' this will open the ingredient hopper on the factory, take your collected resources and put them in the hopper, close this and on the radial dial again select 'start manufacuring items' (sometimes you will have to try a couple of times before this works, depends how fast/slow you are). your sub-components will now be made in your factory, to check how long it takes double click on the factory and you will get a view telling you how long each one takes to make.

When you make the component, go through the same process, this time when you make the schematic you will also need to input the required number of sub-components (they will be in crates after you take them out of your factory output hopper). These will be used up in making this schematic, which is why in my example you made 22. Now you have 20 left, take all these plus the resources to your factory, rinse and repeat. At the end you will have your 20 droid eng components.

Phew !

Oh and don't forget, your factory will need maintenance and power to run.

I hope I got all the radial names right, they will at least be thereabouts, I am working from memory and hardly even look at these anymore.
