Thread: Another candle bug -> no decay

some of my candles have reached 0 lifespan now. And they are still burning, if I take them in my inventory and drop it somewhere again, the light is gone, but if I dont move them, they give light as before. So it looks like if you decorate your house and dont move things, they will stay. I will watch it what happens, maybe they stop burning after a few days.

nope, they won't stop burning. Has been brought up a few times now, unless you move them they will last forever, or at least until they get fixed.

And the problem here is typical of so many of the 'broken' parts of the game, if they don't get fixed quickly then people get used to the situation and eventually accept it as how it is going to be, then if the devs fix after a long time everybody cries 'nerf', and architects will get the blame for what should have been in the first place.

ah, I did not read anything about it so far, sorry for bringing it up again.

But it realy looks like everything that could went wrong went wrong -> first they decay in crates, then they dont stop burning.

For the programmining issue: I dont know how SWG works, but maybe it is not even possible to check or change the state of an object (from burning to not burning) - when the are in the house and not in the players inventory.

To tell you the truth, I dont mind this one. You get a free ride, but if you decide that candle lamp is not good in that spot any more, then you are buying a new one.

The whole point of decay, Rotor, is to have people buying a fresh supply of candles and/or lamps every so often.

Yep, mine are still burning with no lifespan left. No need to replace them unless you move them.

Honestly, even though I made lots of crates of each which wont sell as fast as I thought, I am kind of relieved they work this way. I have enough "work" to do in this game and am ok with nothaving to add "check lifespan on all candles" every week in all my structures to the list of things to do.

Well, I know, but I was never for furniture decay. My advocacy has always been for structures decay.

This is typical of the way items are being added at the moment. I can't believe this had enough time spent in testing by the devs let alone before it hit test centre. If an item that is supposed to decay, you would think it is the very first thing to get tested.

As a programmer myself I know that you can't test for every eventuality, but a bug that is essential to the operation of the object should really be the first thing checked - there is no way bugs like these should be hitting the live product.

i hope they never fix it...decay on lamps is just dumb...who ever decided to add it to the lamps should be "reassigned"...

regardless, this is just one more example of how sloppy and half assed this team does things...

they all need to be canned IMO

If I had known that before I made 3000 of them I could have made a few nice swoops

Can't say I ever liked the idea of these candles and light's but it's just been one mistake after another with the decay in crates and now the still alight after lifespan has ran out.

Always said these were the worst idea for the re-newable income for our prof.

Thats why I don't make these to sell and I never get asked to make them either.

Sorry for the negative post.. Don't usually like posting negative stuff

This bug still isn't fixed. How am I supposed to sell lamps and candles that way?
