Thread: Event idea Parade of Homes

I am bringin this up because I think It is a good idea and give something for architects to compete at in game. Not to metion I probly will never run this kind of event, or compete in the near future. So i am hadning it off to someone that would... enjoy.
in the the area where I live in RL (Madison WI, GO PACK!) every year there is an event hosted by the area buidlers association called the "Parade of homes". What happens is some new undeveloped subdivision gets targeted and several builders end up building brand new houses withen 6 months. And finally there is an even where the public can view and look at the showcase of homes. THere is a bit of compeition between builders to build bigger and better. Over the years, from a pool outside, to a pool enclosed, or in the basement, and then in the roof. Since there really is no way for players to do much with designing buildings in SWG, it falls to the Architects to become the interior designers and create well decorated masterpiece in the home.
The way I think it could work would be for a player city to sponser it, and offer any resident to 'donate' thier house to compete, offering his home to be used for the event (probably with a large sum of credits to create a prize. The architects who "signed up" then could have limited time to completlely furnish and decorate the house that is given to them by lot. When the time is up, the mayor and maybe a few others could "judge" and award the architect for best decorated house. the homeoweners could keep the house as is, and the best architects could win the prize.
its a start, and hopfully some brave sould can orginize it, and get some houses so well decorated it would make Naboo royalty jealous.
Not to metion challange architects, and allow players to have a nice place to call "home"

good idea... I may run with this on Ahazi... hey Garva... can we arrange a special "interior decorator" title for the winner?
