Thread: Looking down the Architech path...

I've browsed the forums for a little bit now and I was wondering if resource quality matters when it comes to architect? I would imagine that it does for harvesters and the like but what about houses, factories and furniture?

I'm asking because I'm not a hard core gamer and I only play an hour every day if that and I don't want to spend that hour hunting the galaxy for high quality resources. Another question do certain structures require certain planetary resources. For example do Naboo houses require resources from Naboo?

Thanks in advance.

I'm only 3/4 through theskill tree, but primarily just need grind level stuff, in large quantities.

Harvs and crafting stations do need good resources, at least.

I only averagea couple hours a day and have managed to grind thru easily, setting up shop and building up stock/resources is taking some time, but nothing to stop a casual from having fun with Architect, imho. And at the least your house will bevery wellequipped. heh

Quality of material does not matter for any furniture, houses, city structures or factories. So you can run a pretty full vendor built from nothing but grind materials.

For harvesters about 10% of the materials needs to be high quality. But for the most part we just need a decent duralloy steel and those appear to pop every 2-3 weeks nowadays.

High rating crating stations need a lot of high quality materials and if you want to make those it would mean hunting and waiting to get the best materials.

The master architect level furniture requires some rare named materials. The quality of those doesn't matter but they sometimes don't pop for months so they can be scarce.

Well, for the most part Factories don't need high end resources, but it helps to have materials that let you experiment the hopper size some. last I heard, an experimented factory didn't have the problems with them stopping when they got too full.

This is some of the best advice you'll hear. If you are planning on going master, then look into the rare named resources NOW. I've been a master for about 6-8 weeks, and theres still a couple of the items that I can't make because I havent been able to find the rare resources. Those that I did find, I stocked up on a couple of 100k stacks, so I wouldn't run out.

Lube Oil (though this may change) and Duralloy steel are your friends, as is ANY ore in quantity.

Definately, from a miners point of view it's good advise to mine profession specific RARE resources whenthey spawn and drop as many heavies on it as possible - but overall, there reallyare NO rare resources in the Architect profession. Overall, it's mainly the Heavies and Ore Mining Units that need good steel and ore and it should be possible to make BER13's Heavies with these resources around 922 UT,SR,HR).

Other than that, it's mainly grinding resources needed (ores&metals) where quantiy is what you want.

I think the reference to RARE resources is intended to refer to the resources used forexample in'Master' furniture items, some of these are exceptionally rare, certain Ores have only ever spawned on Bria twice, once around 3 months ago, the other time being over a year ago. You have to agree, thatcan be classified RARE

Yeah, I haven't seen Pholokite Extrusive ore for months, and Thallium copper continues to elude me.

Architect tip of the day:

Use Lube oil for the chemical requirements on Harvs mate. Stats don't exist for experimentation so you get a pass. With polymers the substats affect experimentation.

From the original post, I was making reference the general "resource quality" of resources OVERALL for Architect items as the original poster wasinquiring and if quality mattered for houses, factories, harvestersand furniture. It doesn't have to be Duralloy steel. Any steel over 922 will do.

But, yes, if you're looking for *RARE resources specifically to the Architect, you are quite right that there's a few of them specificially for the WHITE "master" furniture. It may be rare - but quality has no bearing on the item.

That brings up a point.. how about adding a color option based on quality...

an experimented 50% chair gets 5 colors.. 75% gets 10, 80% gets 20, 85% gets 30, 90% gets about 45, and 95% gets 60...

Houses, furniture and factories don't require uber good resources (or really specific resources) to craft them... Harvesters and crafting stations are the only things that really require high grade resources.

... and no, Naboo houses don't require resources specifically from naboo... although some of the gardens and such require very specific resources from different planets.
