I have been using harvestors since day one and always kept them up to date. Well I just let a couple run out and besides the massive debt to reinstate their integrity....(around 8k each for the heavies) I had no ore, and 0 power in all of them. Is this normal? Do we lose the ore as pretty much the final insult to the debt we have to resolve? And finally...if the ore is gone...where did it go? Game should at least have a reason ore disappears. Did it get picked up by the harvestor fairy since debt was acrewing (spelled it that way to infer a sound alike) or does the delapidated harvestors bin just rust out and the ore falls out? Or better yet...the high tech harv just alchemically transform the ore to.....power?....lol....but seriously..just curious how the game explains the outcome. And...having a little fun in the process....Happy hunting...Luuk

No you should not loose the resources that you've already mined if the harvester gets damaged due to lack of maintenance. Sounds like a bug. Assuming you're 100% sure that you turned it on in the first place.

I've had this happen many times. I think if you let your harvester run out of power and/or maintenance, it dumps the entire hopper contents in its death throes...
/kickself for letting maintenance and power reserves go empty

Some time ago I heard it explained like this:
You set up a harvester and it has nothing in the hopper.
You add your power and maintenance, select the resource and turn it on.
You go away for a while.
When you check it again, the game calculates how much resource it should have gathered since the last time you looked at it and puts that much in the hopper.
Since it was empty when you started and now it has no power or maintenance (whichever), the game thinks that is hasn't been running the whole time so it assumes that you've gathered no resources and doesn't put them in the hopper.
I don't know if this is accurate but it does fit with what I've seen happen.
I have noticed that when I open the interface, the hopper indicator will jump from 30% to 70% (example numbers).
It could be that what I'm seeing is the game recalculating the hopper from 30% full the last time I checked to 70% now that I've accessed the harvester again.
Did you touch the harvesters at any time between the time you started them and the time you went back and found the harvester shut down?

Ive heard the same thing as Elyssa, this also ties in with my experiences.
If I empty my hoppers one day, then a resource shift happens before I check the harvs again, I end up with nothing in there. Its a pain, which is why I try and empty them everyday, just to make sure I actually get something out of them.
