Thread: Ok, Dumb Questions of the Day here.
What exactly does the % on the experimentation requirement means as far as the resource? Ok current schematics say:
Decay Resistance: 33%
Unit Toughness: 66%
So, does that mean that the resource you use has to have atleast 33% of DR, aka 330? Or does it mean that DR influences the finaly outcome by 33%?
Also "kgh extraction rate" assuming a 100% spot (for easeness sake) a 5kgh extractor pulls what? 500units/hour 50units/hour 5/units/hour? Or is it resource dependant? I.e. some minerals denser than others, there for more or less units=1kg?

Let's say the resource you are using has a DR of 900 and a UT of 500
Then the formula for it's actual effect on the finished product would be:
(900*.33)+(500*.66) = 297+300=627
The higher this number is the more initial experimentation points you start out with and the higher the end cap is that you can experiment it up too.
As a general rule of thumb 29% is the highest I've seen on the initial combine with 99% being about the highest you can experiment to (there are a few exceptions like repair tools)

My understanding is that the % factor that schematics list is how the reource affects the assembly outcome. This means the attributes influence the final outcome. IE 100% conductivity on tool with 820 CD copper means the final product can only be expiremented to 82%. Splitting theschematics attributes between 2 or 3 resource attributes works the same way. 33% decay would account for 33% of the final outcome. Using your example a resource that has 0 DR and 1000 UT would mean a final product that could be expiremented only to 66%.
The extration rates are these formulas straight from the FAQ:
Output per hour = Extraction rate in kg/h * 60 * density% = # units produced / hour
Output per day = Extraction rate in kg/h * 1440 * density% = # units / day
Example: A medium mineral harvester with an extraction rate of 6 kg/h on a 75% aluminum density will give you
= 6 * 60 * 0.75 = 270 units per hour production or 6480 per day
