Did the Ore units still allow experimentation on them?

ore units and walls still allowed expirementing, I didn't get a chance to make much else before we were offline again

Medium mineral with 9's. Christ, now the old heavies are really dead as doornails. .sigh

If you don't mind checking a few things

What parts should we NOT have in stock? I know not to stock up on ore mining units, fluidic drill pumps, harvesting mechanisms. But is it "safe" to make a batch of turbine generators, or manufacturing mechanisms, or small structure storage modules?

You say walls can be experimented on. Do they increase harvester output as well? Or do they reduce maint or power?

Does efficiency still depend totally on UT?

Do the new components take extra materials compared to the old? Do they take any "unusual" (for architect) components like gemstones or specific resources?

Thanks for any answers.

Oh and one more question...Did +structure assembly get increased to 100 too?

Was wondering that myself Deoka. I have stockpiled several parts, are these now useless to me? Please don;t tell me that are that blind not to consider that.

Also, have the number of reources needed to make each item gone up with the new schematics? I would like tot hink they either kept them the same, or lowered them.

I find it very difficult to imagine that Mediums will remain at 9. Remember, GreenMarine said he thought the rates were a little high... IMHO he's unlikely to make them higher. They're simultaneously giving us 100 experimentation points AND changing the schematics for harvesters. Its unsurprising that things got skewed.

My biggest concern at this point with what little I know about the changes on Test Center is that they are planning to remove Efficiency from the components (ore mining units, etc) and adding it to the final combine. That could be difficult

it doesn't actually say that, just says its added to the final combine... he didn't say it was removed from those components.... although I don't like the idea of it being on a final combine either.

Deoka: I can't answer 100% because the server never came up today... but to the best of my knowledge generator turbines and stucture modules and walls are still completely safe to stockpile. UT is still going to be the major factor in most all structures, and at least pre patch it had seemed to me that ALL components being higher UT gave the best harvest rates. I had 4-5 harvesters that came out 1-2 points higher before patch and post patch from using higher UT structure and wall modules.. never had enough spare resources to do a full test though. Lastly, I'm sorry to say that most of my resources went to making Liberty's first city hall and new PA for corellia, so I didn't even try any of the new components or the heavy harvesters they seem to be meant for... Once TC is stable again (besides server crashes we had a few days of crafting crashing us to desktop) we can post more info for you.

* I forgot in all my excitement to even look at structure assembly rates- If TC ever comes back up I'll let you know, but I think its still 55 atm.

Praolith: Again, I only had time for a few quick mediums, but those used the exact same components + schematics...

Twilahs: It is possible that will be the final result, as right now you can expirement on ore mining units (I got up to 97% with all 10 points) plus being able to add 2-3 points with expirementation on the final assembly. As it stands it looks like medium harvesters will cap around 10 kg/h. I would love to have the resources to see what a heavy could reach

Ropock: Thanks for reading carefully

To All: This is simply how things stand AT THE MOMENT, these changes may go through major modifications before they get pushed to other servers. I just wanted to let you know a little bit of support was given to architects with the rest of this patch, and it looks to be a great change!

Ok, I don't know if you want an update of most things that come to TC or not, but I'll throw a couple out anyway. They currently have revamped expirementation completly for architects! We now have 100% expirementation- the full 10 points.A lot ofcraftable components, like structure modules, or generator turbines no have NO option to expirement on them. They have changed the schematics for heavy harvesters I believe (didn't have time to double check sorry) as there are new components like a 'turbo fluidic pump.'

Now the major change:

They have implemented actual expirementation on the extraction rate!!! Using good quality resources my mediums started at extraction rates of 7. There are now 2 expirementation bars after final combine though, storage and efficiency. I was able to achieve medium minerals with extraction rates of 9 with mid grade resources.

I can't promise any of this will make it to regular play servers, but they are definately trying to give architect attention with all the new city buildings and changes to expirementing

Wow, thanks for the info, I was going to make up about 20 heavies tonight but I may have to hold off now and stockpile resources/parts. Any timeframe on this? Next big patch next month?

Thanks Ripster

Hope they get those crashes fixed soon! The more info the better, even if half of it doesn't make it to live.
