Thread: Advice on 40+ crafting stations

Hi Im trying to figure out how to get to 40+ on crafting stations and 14+ on tools. I think I am doing everything right but seem to have hit a wall at +12.90 on tools and +19.4 on the stations.

I believe only conductivity matters on either item and the resource I am using has 930 conductivity.

Sowhats stoping me from reaching my goals?

Is it just finding a1000+ conductivity copper resource or is there something else?

I have heard of add ons that add to experimentation or something but have no idea where to find those sorts of things.

Any advice would be great.

Once I got to +19.4 I tried making new tools thinking it was just a leap frog type system but even with the jump in station quality from-8 to +19 I was still only able to make +12.90 tools so Im stuck.

The upper limit is based on the materials used. Conductivity, in this instance, is the only consideration. I use 988 Copper and the best I can get is +14.6. Even getting an amazing success during experimentation doesn't help, because it caps out at +14.6 and leaves me with a left over point.

Thequalityof the things you makeis entirely dependent on the materials you use. How often you do it is based on luck.

for the final combine, yes, thats what makes the difference.... On the crafting stations in order to raise that number you'll also need highly experimented subcomponents.... droid storage compartments, control panels and micro-sensor suites.

There are several threads on this you can find using the search function which give a lot of detail on making a highend unit.

Still not sure what it is they do for certain, although everyone has a different theory.... but they sell nice.

The tools ONLY require high conductivity copper.

With 960+ Conductivity, I got 13.9 or so and with 982, I got like 14.46. That's the highest I have been.

Now, the stations are a whole different thing.

EVERY and I mean EVERY subcomponent needs to be High OQ except on the Micro Sensor suites, replace the metal withhigh OQ and High conductivity copper. It is 66% OQ and 33% conductivity. Everything else is high OQ as you can find.

I spent about 3 weeks collecting all the materials and waiting on spawns of resources. What finished it off for me was the spawn of 980 OQ and 960 CD copper (for the metal part of micro sensor suites) along with 982 conductivity copper at the same time.

Ok, once you collect all the materials, make al lthe subcomponents and then experiment on them and get the best you can. Once you get the best you can, make a schematic and produce them in a factory. It saves a lot of waste from fail experimentation.

Get a Master DE to experiment when making the droid storage compartments using the highest OQ metal you can.

All subcomponents will be assembled and experimented on using a droid tool in front of a weapon/droid station. It really helps to have Master Artisan or, get a Master Artisan to create the schematics for you.

FINAL assembly and experimentation will take place using structure tools in front of a structure station. This is where you need to use the HIGHEST conductivity copper you can find. 450 per station, then toss in all the subcomponents.

I was going to make all mine in a factory in order to save a ton of time and cut down on failures doing them all by hand. The problem is, the schematics for crafting stations are bugged and you can't make in a factory using crates.

I still am making then in the factory but, I am havign to pull the stuff out of the crates and out in seperately into the input hopper of factory. This is time consuming but, I don't loose any stations and parts from failed final experimentation and assembly.

I am making 41.15 stations but, I settled on some lower OQ stuff because I was tired of collecting and trying to find the highest available and it was getting really expensive. I may have been able to push it higher had I waited till some more higher OQ stuff came around but....

Since 43+ is aboutthe highest I had ever seen and that was with everything being 960+ OQ/CD, I figured the 41.15 was good enough.

Just a small note- it only takes a novice Droid Engineer to expirament the Droid Storage Compartments all the way up. For some reason you get a ton of experiment points on them without even progressing past 0,0,0,0.

That is because they are based on master artisan experimentation, just like the crafting stations themselves.

IMO this is as intended, it gives novices a product that they can market without making them more powerful than master DE. Just like with the crafting stations.

It go to help make being a novice something only to be ground through. You can actually make a business of it on your way to master.

the max for a tool should be 15, as the 999 copper on Lowca gives you a 14.97. I've built a couple of top notch crafting stations, rated at 42.94667. It really takes the best possible ingredients for all of the subs, and perfect combines and experimentations all the way through. The Control Unit, Energy Distributor and Electronics GP module rely solely on OQ, while the MSS they combine into requires CD and OQ (1:2). Finally, that station requires just Conductivity, and the best possible control units, mss's and droid storage compartments you can make.

While I'm here.. has anyone gotten a higher rated station? I'm on Lowca, and to the best of my knowledge, this is the best station ever made on that server. Well, I can prolly squeeze a HAIR more out of it now, since the beautiful 992 OQ polymer that I mined the crap out of shifted days ago, and there's a new 993 OQ polymer now. /sigh

Yup... I make and sell some 43.003586 food/chem and weap/droid stations on Tarquinas.
Of course I have the following limiting factors...

994 CD copper is the best yet.
930's OQ copper is the best yet.
980's OQ metal is the best yet.
600's CD steel is the best yet.

to sum it up... best microsensor made so far hasn't quite reached 90% yet.(that's 1 whole functionality point lost right there)

Anyhow... about the stations...

Basic formula on them is quite simple. Here are the basics...

Station combine is worth -15 to +15 ( with 50% experimented being 0 )
Subcomponents are worth -5 to +5 ( with 50% experimented being 0 )

Subcomponents used in the microsensor are NOT modified by the experimentation value of the microsensor combine.

Max outcome for a station with perfect components is +45.0

Aren't the droid storage modules worth -10 to 10?
I.e. +15 for 1000 conductivity materials in final combine, +10 for two 100% cu's, +10 for two 100% mss's, +10 for five 100% droid storage modules.

I managed to do quite easily 14.85 crafting tools with 992 or was 998 conductivity copper andDidnt use droid storage modules. With crafting stations havent got lucky yet, gotta dig up better resources to see what I can cook up.

A group of us on Chilastra found that 998 Cond copper gave 14.94 tools practically every time

On Intrepid we have some 996 conductivity copper that gives 14.88 functionality tools reliably. So that's pretty clear how that works.
