This problem has bitten a few people who are trying to move their houses to cities. They go to redeed their old house, but there is an object which is stuck in the wall or something like that, and they can't find it or pick it up. The house is pretty much stuck until it runs out of maintenance.

Are there any workarounds? Are there any fixes?

If you know what the item is, you can use /pickup itemname and it should be able to pick up the object. I've lost a few small items in walls before and it took a little bit to retrieve them.

I fear the only people that can help with that will be the CSRs unfortunately.

thanks for the response, trying the /pick up command doesnt seem to be working. *sigh*

Guess its time to wait for the CSR's to respond....

The /pickup command will work. I ran into the same problem a month or more ago and got lucky with a lost item and was able to re-deed after retrieving it.

Where it's probably proving difficult is in: 1) remembering where the item vanished, and 2) recalling the exact name of the item.

Aside from having to be standing as close as possible to the wall into which the item disappeared, you might find that your lost bag was actually renamed "Fred's lewtz!", hence that's the title you would have to use to get it back.

All furniture items come with set names which architects often change to helporganisestock on a vendor - hence while all four types of loveseat are just called "Loveseat" on the architect menu - they may well have been re-named "Loveseat: Style 1", "Loveseat: Style 2" etc in the creation process. Therefore you'd have to type '/pickup Loveseat: Style 2' etc to get them back.

If that's the case you might have to spend the enitre night going through different names till you hit the right one - or you could just call a CSR to help you out - it would probably be quicker and a whole lot less frustrating!!

Hope that helps - and good luck!

Perhaps, in the next month, this could be put on the bug-fix list. Its very nasty when it hits. Something as simple as a command to cycle through the pick'able targets would suffice. (and would be useful in its own right).
