Thread: SO Generic Housing is a thing of the past?...*warning* Rant Included

I keep seeing all these posts about how old deeds can't go where they were never supposed to go. I also know from making several deeds over the past 24 hours that new housing can suddenly be placed on more planets than originally available. Are generic houses and halls being swept under the rug? They sure are NEARLY useless now. Why will anyone buy a generic house that looks like crap to go on Dantooine when they can use a naboo palace instead? Ok I can see if someone somewhere just couldn't decide where they wanted to live or narrow it down to 3 planets lol. Or maybe one or two uber boyscouts who have to be prepared for anything.

Is this the dev's way of phasing out generics? If so does that mean that there will NEVER be a proper line of Corellian homes? After all if generics go bye bye then we can't complain about the fact that corellian housing is obviously jumbled up generic because someone got lazy and didn't want to design real corellian housing. My PA's player city, which I've singlehandedly built from the ground up (Literally every structure in the town was made by me), is on Corellia.....AND I LIVE ON NABOO BECAUSE THE CORELLIAN HOUSING IS SO TERRIBLE !!!

Come on folks I can see putting up with those structures if they were just generic. After all you sometimes have to pay a price for versatility. But can't we have something that even remotely matches the local cities architecture? Look at the new Corellian Town halls....excellent work although I think they should have more than one floor accessable. Nice interior...blatantly corellian exterior. How about some houses along the same line? Please?

And now the standard complaints just to round out the thread:

Let's have a color palette for furniture please.

Let's have a bunch more furniture types craftable please. At least the ones we see everyday in npc cities for god's sake.

Do something to balance out the lots and storage for housing. 75 pieces per lot is fine but be consistant and give people who wasted 6 lots on a large house or 9 (or 7) on a PA Hall the same consideration. Or maybe bump a large down to 4 lots at 300 storage, a medium up to 3 lots at 225 storage, smalls stay the same.

Finally fix the Master level ARMOIRE (note the spelling then check some of the other posts) and repair whatever peice of code that flipped all kinds of stuff around in the furniture tree.

Thanks for reading this lengthy thing. Here's where the flamers, the idoits who simply dissagree with every post, and the staunch defenders of the devs come along to grill me. For the record I think the devs have done an amazing job of getting the game to where it is today but some of this stuff is so incredibly simple to fix and some is blatant laziness. Yea I can smell the burning hair already.

i'd like to pass on the color palette for furniture, i'd like to keep making generic furniture in my factory. and then craft a re-upolster kit for people to change the color when theay want (give it 5 uses like a weapon repair kit). heck then you could give furniture a condition that goes down after ever re-upolster.

i have enough things to do without having to babysit people through decorationg their houses.

I'll take that as an alternative as well. Anything to be able to distinguish homes from one another. There's only so much furniture that looks good and goes with other pieces. A re-upholster kit would be awesome if I could make things match up a bit more. Another fine idea =)

What? Not everyone wants a purple divan, or that monkey-ugly red large couch?

The upholster kit is a neat idea!

Awsome idea for re-upholester kit Ninachuu!!! Yes, we need something to spark more sales. I see Archs selling Housesat half price just to make sales. Yes, the new stuff will help, but deterioration is a constant.

It really is getting boring. Nothing exciting to make. Just grinding walls orlarge red couches, lol.

One more thing--this Resource changing thing is so rediculous!!! I have sooooooo many different kinds of Ore it is just stupid. My whole inventory is a mix of, what, 3 or 4 resources just different name/kind of the same resources; But, just enough of each one that youcan get one or 2 uses out of them so you don't delete them---grrrr.

Sorry, guess the resources partdidn't quit fit the catagory. Just flew off my fingers, ha
