Thread: Existing Ore Mining Units

Being the efficent little fellow that I am, I have a fair stock of Ore Mining, Fluidic and other heavy mining units.

On the basis the 'new' units will be coming out and mediums use lighter models....what will happen to my existing stock ? Will it become redundant ?

Anyone from TC know ?

Ack I hope not, I've got 80 of the things. Needed more **edit** reactive gas and couldn't finish a huge run of mediums was working on.

Maybe they're making a new schematic that uses them now...

This change is about enough to make me run from architect with my hands in the air screaming. I, like most masters of the trade, have parts laying around for fast turnaround. I guess the parts will still be useable in medium harvesters but be honest who buy those much anymore. From what I have read the two new parts they show are items that look like they would make Flora and Chem harvesters. I guess we'll see real soon. If not like last month and we have to wait a whole day for the kinks to get ironed out.

as soon as they announced the new experimentation formulas and schematics I stopped premaking any parts that include efficiency.

I simply kept the schematic on hand with the resources and made them as I needed them to either stock my vendor or fill a customer order.

I actually removed the "Master Architect" title above my head for the last few days. Still filling orders it didnt slow down much. I did the same Ropock, only making what I need at this moment and my component deed pack is just about depleted.

I am really curious aobut existing finished harvestors,I wont be upset either way. Nerf em or not we will all be in the same boat. And if they do nerf them back to 7 it will be increased business in the new harvestors for a while.

It appears that ore mining units (forthe heavy mineral mining installation are still working; however, due to some of the changes, your old experimentation isnt as valid as it was: by way of explanation, I had a run of BER 10 OMUs stored, however, their NEW functionality is now only 7; further experimentation at the master combine for experimentation is now possible, resulting in a BER 9 harv... further, it appears that maintenance rate (cr/hr) can now be reduced via experimentation on subcomps & master combines. Best rate thus far is a 45cr/hr maint rate

Pre-patch extraction components appear to be worthless now. With some 80% pre-patch ore mining units I crafted an 8kg/hr heavy and then experimented it up to 10kg/hr on the final combine experimentation. After making a new 97% schematic I was able to make a 13k/ghr heavy harvester after the final combine experimentation.

I'm assuming pre-patch schematics are also worthless as well.

Hmmm and I spent 400k on a nice box of 8's and 11's sob.

So has anyone done the breakdown on the various unit types regarding

Turbo Fluidic at 70% = BER of ?? etc

Yup, all my old stuff is now worthless. Since we didn't have all 10 experimentation points, the best I could make with the ore mining units I had was extraction rate of 9. so I now have almost 100 fluidic drilling pumps and ore mining units that are now worth exactly jack $hit!

Same, only been making them as-needed for the last few days, since they said there would be schematic changes regarding new harvs. But... /comfort for those stuck with obsolete parts

This was brought up before the patch, but unfortunately, the "Love the change! Embrace the change!" faction seemed to win out.

I actually like the changes overall, but am disappointed in how those of us with stocks of these "old" parts now find ourselves with obsolete parts.

As has been mentioned, "old" ore mining units appear to be usable, yet as we now have more experimentation points, the old ones aren't as good.

With fluidic drilling pumps, I'm not sure if these are usable with anything now really. I've never bothered with medium harvesters aside from mineral ones due to the resource costs, so I'm not sure what to do with all these fludic drilling pumps I have in crates that I'd made for heavy harvesters.

I destroyed all my old reserves last night after experimenting showed despite my gear being 'pre-patch' good (indeed the best) it is poo now. Ack 750k down the toilet. However the new units are way better and the world will have more ore in it now...hurrah. And as happened last time...all our top customers will come back and order replacement 13's
